SEGASonic:Radio

What is SEGASonic:Radio?

SEGASonic:Radio (SS:R) was created in the early 2000′s by The Sonic Stadium (TSS) founder Svend ‘Dreadknux’ Joscelyne. It started as two basic internet streams (an AM and FM station for lower and higher quality respectively) powered by Zone Radio Network (ZRN). ZRN was home to a number of other video game related radio stations, but closed in early 2009 due to hosting issues. Shortly after, SS:R was born again as a separate entity. Whilst originally a UK focused Internet radio, the station began to cater more for other time zones, with shows being hosted all over the world. In late 2011, it closed for maintenance before relaunching in June 2013.

Tune in to SEGASonic:Radio by downloading the live radio stream, or by joining the audience in the IRC through here or here! Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for live updates, latest discoveries, previews of the SSMA’13&K, and more!

Ooh! Ooh! Can I become a DJ and host my own radio show too? Huh? Can I?

No… well, yes! WELL… you could, but we’re pretty packed right now!

If you do plan on becoming a DJ, just remember that doing a radio show continuously does take a bit of work and organisation on your behalf. It’s not a light gig as any SS:R DJ will tell you. You’ll need to be able to provide a show that is entertaining, and you’ll be doing this shindig by the week. Also, it is recommended that you get yourself a high quality microphone as well as figuring out a rough idea on what your show will be about.

Sooooooo… yeah, unfortunately, we have no openings for new DJs at the moment.

Can I submit news/remixes to the station?

Again, SS:R welcomes any SEGA/Sonic music news, especially if it’s work you have done on a track. If you want your ideas and hard work showcased for everyone to hear, some of the shows take requests!

I want to stalk the crap out of you all. May I?

Most certainly! SEGASonic:Radio has its own Twitter for you twits to follow, as well as a Facebook page if you’re into that sorta thing! If you wish to keep track of the DJs individually for alerts and news on their shows as well as their own separate projects, here are their Twitter links!

To those feeling like taking an old tour ’round the block, here’s the old website as well.
