First footage of Sonic Adventure 2 on the Gamecube has been released by SEGA from the Space World show. Check it out after the jump; it seems to be pretty similar to the Dreamcast original, so any changes that Sonic Team may have added aren’t very apparent. We saw it coming, but SEGA has reportedly made the news official about Sonic Adventure 2 being released on Nintendo’s Gamecube console. A report from Nintendo’s Space World show indicates that the game will hit the system, but Sonic Team will formally announce any new changes to the game since its Dreamcast release later this week.
SEGA has been keeping quiet over their secret fourth game, to be revealed at Nintendo’s Space World show – but it seems like the cat’s already out of the bag, as internet sleuths have deduced that Sonic Adventure 2 is coming to the Gamecube. RyanDrummond.com has stated that Steve Sheppard-Broadie, the voice of E-102 Gamma in Sonic Adventure 1 and the President in Sonic Adventure 2, has passed away on Friday of August 10th, we’ll miss you. Here’s what Ryan Drummond (SA/SA2’s Sonic voice) had to say:
“Before I go for this month, I have to pay respects to a fallen talent here in San Diego. Steve Broadie was a very talented Voice-Over actor here and I always enjoyed seeing him at auditions and working with him on projects. He passed away at 2pm on Friday the 10th. He will be missed. Hope he’s doing V.O.s in heaven! :)”

Sonic Team has launched the online Chao-sharing functionality of Sonic Adventure 2, a month after the game’s initial Dreamcast release. Now, you can log on to the SA2 Dreamcast page from the disc and upload your Chao to the Chao Daycare. Your friends can pick them up from you there. As well as share Chao, you can also use the Chao Black Market from the online site too. Get sharing!

The official Sonic Adventure 2 website has been updated with some helpful hints and tips about the game. If you log on to the site now via Sega.com you can find “1st Mission” hint pages, an Omochao Q&A page where you can submit questions to Sonic Team (so far, Omochao’s been asked how to get past a certain spot on Crazy Gadget), and a Message Board that’s split into ‘Beginner’, ‘Expert’ and ‘Chao’ forums. You can also download a VMU file that changes the voice in the menu screen in Sonic Adventure 2 to Sonic’s. Neat!

Sonic Crackers was announced for the Sega 32X soon after Sonic 1 and 2 was released on the Mega Drive. It’s initial WIP title was actually ‘Sonic Stadium’, believe it or not! The release of the most eagerly anticipated Sonic game ever has come – to those of us that live in North America. Sonic Adventure 2 will be the final Sonic game on a SEGA system – after running on Genesis, Master System, Game Gear, 32X, SEGA CD, Saturn and a short jog on Neo Geo Pocket Color, and finally the Dreamcast. This will be a day to remember if you’re a big Sonic fan like myself. Happy Sonic Adventure 2 Day!
No, this is not a blatant lie – there is very big rumour that Sega and Nintendo are indeed in working on a game. But – and get this – this will be a landmark game that’ll bring Sonic and Mario together for the very first time! According to the latest issue of the UK ‘N64’ magazine by Future Publishing, the news sounded pretty much like it was no rumour – so if this is true, it will bring a tear to many feuding Nintendo/Sega fans of old. Truly remarkable news. Sonic and Mario, joining forces it seems, the thought of it is just… wow! And I mean WOW!
I’ve been flipping through recent Nintendo mags and other sources, and have uncovered a bunch of new screenshots of Sonic Advance for Game Boy Advance.
