TSS REVIEW: Sonic Pocket Adventure

This is one of the first Sonic titles officially developed for a non-Sega platform – namely the Neo Geo Pocket Color. This release was to accompany Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast, but sadly the NGPC could never compare to the likes of Nintendo’s Game Boy Color no matter how much it tried, and therefore SPA didn’t get nearly enough attention. Shame that, because it is quite a good game to play. Continue reading TSS REVIEW: Sonic Pocket Adventure

Amy Rose Will Appear in Sonic Adventure 2

Finally, that burning question has been well and truly answered. In an interview with IGN Insider, Sonic Adventure 2 director Takashi Iizuka confirmed that Sonic’s pink admirer, Amy Rose, will indeed play a part in the game’s story. But unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your viewpoint) she will not be playable. It’d be interesting to see how she makes an impact on the plot when the game’s released.

Will Sonic Advance Be A Japan-Only Release?

Sonic Advance could be limited to a Japan-only release, according to information currently published on the official Game Boy Advance website. If that’s the case, it would be really maddening – and it wouldn’t be a great way to kick off Sonic’s third-party venture either. Continue reading Will Sonic Advance Be A Japan-Only Release?

TSS REVIEW: Sonic Shuffle

Sonic Shuffle, originally titled Sonic Square, was created by members of the same team that helped Nintendo develop Mario Party (hence the similarity in the two games). The game sees Sonic, Amy, Tails and Knuckles warped to a mystical land called Maginaryworld, where people’s dreams come true… if you excuse the horrible cliche. No new information was gleaned from these appearances, but it does show that the House of Sonic is still supporting its final console even as it pushes towards third party publishing. There was always something… familiar… about Sonic Shuffle protagonist and referee Lumina. Seeing her flying about in the night sky kind of reminds us of another classic Sonic Team character. Turns out our suspicions weren’t unfounded, because it looks like she moonlights as dream jester NiGHTS on the side. Continue reading Sonic Shuffle: Change Lumina into NiGHTS
