If you’re after some good old Sonic nostalgia, then this is the right place. Download a Sega emulator, get some ROMS from the following pages and play all those Sonic games you have never played or otherwise. Those of you trying to download these from your DC, don’t be silly.
Here are links to the possible ROMS/Emu pages you will need. These links are courtesy of Electro Sonic Dan at SonicRoms.Org, so none of your lip when you get there son, or you’re in for the high jump! ^_^ Gotta do the legal crap though, the ROMS are for… actually, I dunno, temporary playing, what? o_O
Either way, should you download any of the ROMS and Emus, you MUST DELETE THEM OFF YOUR HARD DRIVE WITHIN 24 HOURS!!! Right, got that outta the way, here are the links to the Sonic Roms.Org pages you will need.
Oh yeah, it’s quite annoying for Dan to say this, so I’ll say it too and get on your tits and all! If any linking to Sonic Roms.Org is done, you gotta ask Dan first obviously, it’s not my site, so don’t run to me. ^_^ If you wanna link to his ROMS also, don’t link directly to the ROMS/Emus, just to the pages. Just thought Dan may be tired of saying it, so I’ll say it instead.
Emulators
Here are the best Emulators to get. If they are not on this page, click on the link in the table:
- Genecyst Version xx (Mega Drive)
A Mega Drive Emulator, the best one in fact. This is version xx, which is the latest and last version, it’s also the best. Only prob is that it can’t play the Sonic 2 Multi-Player races. - Meka Emulator (Master System, Game Gear)
Unlike most Master System Emus, this one also plays Game Gear games, and how! Is configurable via the program below. - Meka Configuration Program (for Meka)
This program is to be used with Meka, and is a thorough configuration process. If you want to play games by Joypad then get this program. Happy GB(Game Boy)
Obviously, a Game Boy Emulator. You may think why a GB Emu on a Sonic site. Well, it’s funny how many Sonic hacked games there can be too. Can also switch to all GB modes (Super GB, GB Color etc.)- NESticle (NES)
A NES Emu. This is where you get to realise that people are so fond of Sonic, they make hacked games of him on almost every console, sometimes with hilarious consequences. - Nlke (SNES)
This is a SNES Emu. Plain and simple. One of the only ones I could find, there is a nice Sonic ROM for the SNES in the ROMS section, worth getting this for. - NGPocket (Neo Geo Pocket Color)
Only the one Sonic game to get for this emu, but it sure is a pretty cool title. Get Sonic Pocket Adventure with this.
