So, not too long ago, I had the wonderful idea of making a Minecraft SMP (Survival Multi-Player) Server for Sonic lovers and Gamers alike on this website. I shared this idea In a Status Update, and you guys seemed to like the idea as much as I do, so here I am, broadening the concept further for people to see. Now, the only 2 problems with this are price and account issues; if I can solve 1 problem, the rest can be fixed. 

So, the Account issues: what's up with that? well, when I had Minecraft almost a whole 2 years ago, they required a PIN to log in. Ever since, I never needed to use it, until now. I have zero clue what it might be, and I might have to do a "Thing" with my Microsoft account to get it working again. usually, this takes 30 days to happen, and who knows, maybe even longer.

So the bright side to this? It gives us time to make essentially a "Wishlist" for what we want for this server. What mods to use, not to use, Heck, you can even talk about what landmarks you desire to build. Maybe you have a suggestion on what Server Hoster to use, or more technical things of that sort. with that, let me go down a list I want for this server.

1. Chest on Death. Back when I had Minecraft, I knew that there was a feature that "Swept" the world clean of floating items that were left on the floor to reduce lag. although I really want to implement this for a smooth experience, this also makes the risk of death even worse, because if your stuff is way far away from where you spawn after death, your stuff can get deleted. To combat this issue, we can have a feature, where a chest spawns at the exact point where you died, that way, you can open it up to your stuff, and you can continue, stress-free. in hindsight, this seems like a small issue, but little problems can grow larger, so best to mitigate it now.
2. Sonic Texture Pack. what point is there to have a Minecraft server for a Sonic website, without anything Sonic-Like in it? I haven't fully looked into the vast world of Minecraft Mods but as suggested by @The DOMinator, there is a Texture pack on the marketplace to reskin everything to be Sonic-Related, and they update it to make it always relevant to the current version of Minecraft. I'm not quite sure if this is available for Java Edition, but if not, there are many Sonic Texture Packs out there made by hardcore fans. and who knows, maybe we here as a team could make a cool texture pack for Sonic, just how Mario has!
3. Discord Voice Chat. Now, by no means am I confident enough to speak virturslly publicly, but I know people love to use VC, so why not deliver on that? it's a effective way to communicate in-game, without needing to give up control of your character, just to type a few words. Maybe this SMP will get it's own Discord Server, or be conjointed with the Already Existing TSS Discord server. however that might pan out, it's a QOL feature that will go a long way.
4. Sonic Mechanics. As I take a quick look into Curseforge, an Minecraft Mod Browser, I saw many Mods having to do with adding mechanics into Minecraft, like Special Stages and Moniters. i feel like this is Highly unessesary, but given that this server will be for Sonic, it seems fitting to add.

I like the idea! There actually is a Official Minecraft Sonic texture pack. Also, this is Java?

Yes, I would like this to be the Java Edition, given that I don’t use the Bedrock Edition all too often.

I did consider hosting a server at one point for a community that I'm part of, but I'd rather not open holes on my network and I haven't got a static IP address which would make connections a nightmare. I don't have a domain name either.
