Oooh, I like the sound of this! I've been sitting on a backlog of games for far too long, so this could be just the motivation I need to actually make my way through them all over the course of the year. And hey, it may even help me find a hidden gem amongst the plethora of games I own at this point (on top of replaying some of my all-time favourites).

I'm certainly interested in joining!

I'd love an excuse to finish all my games (and an excuse to just play more games in general). I also like the idea of going and 100% completing some of my favorites. I'm in!

You just gave this grown man a legitimate reason to get back into the gaming world, and to pick up some of the old Sonic games.

I am 100% in on this!

Consider me motivated! I'm definitely joining in on this venture.

Certainly seems like a way to help keep busy and productive!

Time for me to take part. This is gonna be one hell of an undertaking, but let's start the party. I got a few games I managed to burn through earlier in the month, so I'll start with updating with a few already completed...

GAME 1: MEGAMAN XDIVE OFFLINE (100% Completed)

20240115_104654.jpg?ex=65b7d119&is=65a55c19&hm=4e94318995b7f45ca4067921e4dd4e7b920ccdf62ef570fe8824ac13cabada5d&

Finally, a Mega Man game for me, one that just likes to mindlessly cause complete mayhem. I enjoyed my time with the gacha, but there is nothing like having all the content in one, and finally using buttons.

All levels completed in story mode, 3-starred, as well as all events. All characters, weapons 5-starred with DNA Code analyzed, and all cards collected.

GAME 2: SKYLANDERS SUPERCHARGERS RACING (100% Base Game Completed)

20240115_112016.jpg?ex=65b7d075&is=65a55b75&hm=0b8accdb9a51f96af43b804acfb46f7425c32090d1673f8f84107321c2774456&

"Wait, that says 93-"

Yeah, cause I don't have the Land Racing Action Pack expansion yet. That shit goes for 100 bucks, not in a rush to get it. I played this racing spinoff game on the Wii first, where I had the advantage of using Traps to increase my stats. This is a harder experience cause I am trap-less. But I still made sure to complete every track on hard mode. Surprisingly fun racing game, with jumping adding a new edge to the average kart racing formula.

GAME 3: DEVIL MAY CRY 5

20240115_104934.jpg?ex=65b7d121&is=65a55c21&hm=012f66d802522a7cf95a9883cfbf2757442a638f96795e30b430a62a81a6710f&

Yeah, I use the Super skins, what of it? I just like going nuts on auto. This is my fourth time playing this game on another platform... never gets old, what can I say?

GAME 4: SONIC POCKET ADVENTURE

20240115_105050.jpg?ex=65b7d125&is=65a55c25&hm=dd1cdd476ca16e9738d46a3b00224f8340a7d85dcb9f5a6f0175f890fbae6951&

A light remix of Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, a fun little side-adventure I'm glad to have experienced without having to hound a Neo Geo Pocket Color. I'm not going for those puzzle pieces.

GAME 5: SONIC 3D BLAST DIRECTOR'S CUT (100% COMPLETED)

20240115_110816.jpg?ex=65b7d129&is=65a55c29&hm=66829da341d5b6e627635ea5d8ea566aa4a50eb38c5fdd73eea78cad4d233415&

There's always something about how funky Sonic 3D Blast is that keeps me coming back. Now, I had some time to play this enhanced version by Jon Burton, allowing for a more comfortable and polished ride through Flicky Island. As you can see, I have completed with all 7 Chaos Emeralds on hand, earning the True Ending.

GAME 6: PAC-MAN WORLD 2

20240115_111246.jpg?ex=65b7d130&is=65a55c30&hm=e26c80994dc4f5d56614186d566a4b62c4b8ff6822e9042f3ce14d328d4826c4&=&format=webp&width=1512&height=1134

One of the first games I have ever played as a kid, now finally beaten all these years later... On the go, no less through the Steam Deck. It's absolutely magical, I love it.

IN PROGRESS: Currently playing through Persona 5 Tactica. I have just obtained every Phantom Thief and making the grand march to Marie's castle to hopefully get this game done within the month. Wish me luck...

GAMES FINISHED: 6

GAMES COMPLETED: 3

Sounds good. Just to be clear though.

If I look to complete Sonic Game Gear games via Origins Plus, that's ok? If so, how do I prove I completed it? Screenshot?

Oh go on then - it'll give me an excuse to start being more active on here as I tend to lurk fairly often without actually logging in XD

I've already finished two games this year in Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Goat Simulator 3, both on Xbox Series X - I can link to my TrueAchievements account here to show that, and as I start to finish games on PlayStation I'll post a relevant link for those, too!

Screenshot or image of the final screen is enough. Just make sure you're taking images of the true ending or all the Chaos Emeralds if you want full completion.

Pictures taken by a camera are fair game. Just any kind of image that proves completion is enough.

How is this what makes me figure out i can just upload images directly.

I know the dates are a bit messy but I swear, the game was beaten this year.

Well I finished Severed Steel like a week ago.Screenshot(173).thumb.png.475cb18a68c038e1bd38478b0d0fb8be.png

The presence of the New Game+ option should be proof enough.

TMNT Shredders Revenge 100% Platinum.

I grew up with Hyperstone Heist so it was kind of a nostalgic experience. 6 player is easy to lose sight of your character in but good for carrying you through a few tough challenges. Spent an entire evening on the no damage Super Shredder trophy. Also made me realise I do not remember much of the cartoon and don't know who a bunch of the boss characters are.

Lake 100% Platinum.

One of those narrative focused games deliver some post have some conversations and probably forget it within a few weeks good for a recovery from too much pressing square.

Life Is Strange: True Colours 100% Platinum.

Dissapointed I didn't get to blow up a town or do some murders but still a good story.

Finished 3 Completed 3

Count me in. I’ve started BioShock here recently so I’ll give an update on that when I do get around to finishing it. Shouldn’t take too long to do so. Looking forward to beating some games this year!

I want to make a quick additional announcement:

In the interest of leniency, if a game was previously only finished, but you go back, and completely 100% it in 2024, we'll allow it to be submitted.

Ok, starting off strong with the OG.

1. Sonic the Hedgehog (16-Bit), Sega Genesis, 100% Complete

This was first introduced to me as a little boy of 3. Been hooked on Sonic ever since. Honestly wish I knew how many times I've played this game.

We did something like this before in 2015 right? That was a great time and looking forward to doing it again! I'm knee deep in a Last of Us Part 2 playthrough, this seems well timed! Will be back when its done.

Yup, the event was held quite a few years ago, but I've been wanting to do a revival for ages, so I'm really happy to have the chance to do so now!

It certainly is a nice return to form.

Shoot, all that's missing is an "SSMB Sings Sonic Frontiers" event to boot.

Hmm. Might be fun. I've not really had any motivation to play console games these days so maybe this might help. Though thinking ahead a full year does fill me with dread, but at least that isn't essential for the task.

But how can you be sure a picture was taken of a game that was completed this year? I supposed most save files do have dates these days but older ones probably wont, even older ones absolutely wont. I guess you gotta trust people.

I'd have to guess that I've never fully completed 52 games in a single year before. It doesn't feel likely. I probably would've been closer to that number back in the day when games were shorted.
