My goodness. They really went that deep on the skins? This could be the Sonic game. 

Have they confirmed yet if this is locked to multiplayer battle modes (since you can customise this according to the trailer) or are the crazier skins available to use in the main campaign as well?

Can't decide to go with physical copy or the digital deluxe edition. I'm leaning towards the digital deluxe edition at the moment. Will decide when get closer to the release.

I remember that when I got origins plus physically it came with the digital deluxe i'm pretty sure. I hope superstars does the same because I already preordered before this trailer came out.

If these skins are available through singleplayer, I wonder how it'll work with the chaos powers (like the water one making you all blue)

I want to say it should be obvious that the powers/gimmicks will change according to you current skin, but crash 4 taught me that even that's not a guarantee. Crash reverts to his default model when equipped with a special mask, and I really hope that isn't the case here.

Different devs I know, but just pointing out that it could be similar in function which would be really lame.

As deep of a cut as it is, I was willing to pay $5 for two new characters with gameplay differences and a mode that nearly doubled gameplay time for Mania. I'm not paying $10 extra for a couple of character skins.
