Why hasn't there been another Sonic anime since Sonic X?

Look, I know Sonic isn't that popular in Japan, but anime is popular all over the world. I mean, it's practically mainstream now. You'd think that eventually some anime studio would try and tackle the Sonic franchise again, but it's mostly been western studios (Boom was animated in France and America, and Prime was animated in Canada).

I'm kind of shocked a studio like Trigger never got around to making one. Their stylish animation would honestly fit Sonic rather well, and they already adapted Cyberpunk 2077 into a great anime, Cyberpunk Edgerunners.

Not to mention the fact that the Scott Pilgrim anime, despite being animated in Japan, is being animated to the English dialogue, most likely because it's aiming for a Western demographic.

With all this being said, and the fact that Sonic X is 20 years old now, why hasn't anyone decided to make a new Sonic anime when there's clearly interest?

I've been wondering the same thing! Its high time we got another "status-quo" Sonic series. (no multiverses or over-the-top comedic tone)

I wonder if studio Gallop could pick up a new series. They use to do Yu-Gi-Oh up until Vrains.

I'd rather see a continuation of Sonic X, just get rid of Chris since his story has ended.

It just feels that that style of story format has been slow to return to the franchise. I'd dearly love to see another anime in the still of X.
