Rather curious if this is a case in two SKUs (a Forces retail copy and a Mania Plus retail copy) are sold together, or one SKU where both games are on one cartridge? Asking because the bundle still has Mania Plus's artbook and reversible cover included. Wonder how the reversible cover is going to look if it's the latter.

There have been a couple of other SEGA games released in similar double packs. They're just two entirely separate game cases in one outer sleeve. So it's the former, not the latter.

It's probably like the recent Crash N-Sane and Spyro Reignited Trilogy bundle, which is just 2-game cases an outer sleeve. But at least Forces is getting a re-release after some of criticism it got. It still is one of the better Sonic games in terms of story, but still levels are shorter than they were in Unleashed and Generations. But maybe they'll include Episode Shadow and Super Sonic on the cartridge, like how Crash on PS4 re-released with Future Tense and Stormy Ascent on the disc.

Kinda funny that they bill Forces first considering narratively these games are a "Part 1" and "Part 2" of a connected story but I guess they know their audience here.  While fans will probably assume it's an attempt to try and get those who would be more attracted to Mania to play Forces, I assume it's the opposite - they want to attract kids with Forces who will then also play Mania, increasing the audience for classic Sonic products.

That doesn't even make sense. Last I checked you could still buy Mania digitally, and Mania Plus is still sitting on store shelves. You can't make people buy the combo pack without first discontinuing the solo kits. If someone just wants Mania, the option is still there - and convenient.

.......... but, I mean, I only see one great Sonic Game here.

I bet this was made not to oversaturate the stores with Sonic games since the new racing game was about to come out this holliday. And to force people who want's Sonic Mania to also buy Forces.

What? How did you reach that conclusion?

I've been itching for Sonic games on my Switch.

I do love Sonic Mania, while sort of indifferent to Sonic Forces (I traded in my PS4 copy because I couldn't see me playing it again).

So... Perhaps it'll do nicely for me? Hopefully shops sell it for cheap, and it's a bundle that I'll likely get.

It's easy: One is known to be terrible, one is know to be good. When the regular edition of Mania is out of print and people who only buy physical games sees this in stores and want's to play Mania, Sega can add 1 point to Sonic Forces sales chart per Sonic Mania sale and call it a success. It's an evil plan and i don't stand by it.

mania plus is selling like hot cakes, why the heck would they just let it go out of print and not do anything about it?

plus, the 'it's known to be terrible' statement isn't true either, as the game garnered a mixed response, as opposed to a mostly negative one.

they wouldn't even need to hold mania plus hostage, as SEGA's financial reports state that both mania and forces performed well. plus, it'd always be available on amazon, used or new, so your statement just makes absolutely no sense.

there's disliking a game, and then there's making paranoid conspiracy theories about it.

That also makes no sense.

Mania plus (the one that has a physical version) came out about 3 and a half months ahead of forces. It's not going to suddenly vanish from store shelves without a buyback, which we would hear about.

It's less of an evil plan and more like you making a ridiculous conspiracy theory.

It's just a bundle to increase sales by offering overall value. Why are you digging for malicious intent?
