Xbox 360

Spin-offs

Xbox (Original)

  • Sonic Heroes
  • Shadow the Hedgehog

Spin-offs

  • Sonic Riders

NOTE: Xbox 360 game bundle discs appear to be null and void.

Any of the 360 titles can be voted on using the links provided to encourage Microsoft to add backwards compatibility! Please vote so we can get the games sooner.

I will update the links for OG Xbox once they update the voting directory. It should be noted that all three of these titles were playable on the Xbox 360.

As a proud Xboner, I can't WAIT for Generations to be a BC title. I've been waiting for so long. Hopefully with Mania's release or something they do a special release bonus or something and make it a BC title.

Also Sonic Free Riders will never be a BC game. Kinect 360 titles are not part of the program due to different architecture and shenanigans.

I wouldn't expect Sonic 2006. It was the headliner of multiple Sonic games Sega pulled for low reviews/metascores to "increase the quality of the brand". The game was available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace but has been MIA since its removal (and it was never made available on the PlayStation Store). It's effectively an example of keep circulating the tapes by this point (though it's not too difficult to come across used copies of the game, for obvious reasons).

I forget about their statement on Kinect, I've added the link so that people don't get their hopes up for Free Riders.

One of the main reasons I wish I bought an Xbox one instead of a PS4, besides Halo at least, is the backwards compatability. PS4 does have it, but I refuse to pay another wad of cash for a service that should already be free.

Generations and Unleashed are BC on PS4, right?

Don't think having to rebuy the game entirely counts as backwards compatible imo. Doesn't the PS4 just relaunch/rebrand their games and release them digitally?

Yeah that title needs to be re-worded better it sounds like something was announced.

But yeah thats all up to SEGA, and most likely all but 2006 will get ported over in best case scenario.

While I don't have a Xbox One, it is a great thing and can really get down with this. I won't expect 06 (unless people vote that with irony) or Free Riders due to the Kinect but the rest seem doable.

From a perservation point of view, I would actually like to see more from the OG Xbox point of view. Many discs are getting towards the point of failing and consoles are breaking down, emulation is still early days and the lowest progress out of the 6th gen consoles despite that many were the best technical/graphical versions. Not just the Sonic games including Mega Collection Plus that is missing but also plenty from Sega's catalogue. Fan favorites such as Jet Set Radio Future and Shenmue 2, popular games like Super Monkey Ball Deluxe, FROM Software's output now that they are more popular and cults such as Panzer Dragoon Orta and GunValkyrie. Only ones that I don't expect are the OutRun games (sadly) and Sega GT 2002/Online due to licensing. At the end of the day, it's up to Sega.

Will definitely vote.

I have unleashed and generations on the xbox 360 and would love to be able to upgrade to Xboxone and replace my 360. The only thing stopping me is I love generations and unleashed and wouldn't want to get rid of them. If Xboxone gets these this will make it so much easier.

PS4 BC requires a subscription to Playstation Now AFAIK, and is essentially streaming a PS3 to your PS4/PC.
