What do you think we're going to see of this game at E3?

So, we've so far only had one trailer of the Wii U version, and one trailer of the cartoon. We have also had a developer direct (which is a first for a sonic game). We know nothing of the 3DS version nor any plot details apart from the fact that there is a collection of old and new enemies and a "ancient-dark enemy. That said, what are going to see at E3?

I think I read something about a demo being playable at E3, not sure. If we're lucky, they'll have a cutscene somewhere. Maybe a new trailer and possibly a teaser (probably a silhouette, Sonic sure loves silhouettes) of Monster of the Week.

Regardless if there's a demo or not, I'm sure gameplay will be shown.

A second trailer for the show that will reveal "Tails will live!" and serve to introduce Knuckles and Amy in some fashion.

I still think that BRB might try and make the main villain more interesting than just a cardboard cut-out (A.K.A. Deadly Zix). Perhaps he has a sort of relationship to the characters? Maybe he might be related to why there is so many enemies, both old and new, coming back.

If Lost World's Deadly Six cutscene is any indication, they'll probably show us a new cutscene.

Granted, that one was in Japanese... but maybe SEGA America will give us a cutscene from Boom in English. It would be nice if nothing else.

I want to see one of the bosses, myself.

Presumably the main theme will break around that time as well.

Well, considering the game is Western-oriented and, as far as I know, won't have any Japanese release, I think it's safe to assume any cutscene we see will be in English. lol

We'll get a new trailer (obviously), a live demo, possibly a cutscene reveal and lots of interviews and gameplay videos.

And this time they will open up and tell us lots more about the game and not just repeat the same thing over and over again.

I really hope so. Maybe the interview will tease some features not present in the demos.

Or hint at some of the other characters show up (since, apparently, they're looking to bring characters in when they make sense into the game-world.)

If I hear "What is this world?" one more time....

What? Since when? I don't know about that.

Gameplay is inevitable but I'm really hoping we see some cutscenes as well.

I think he's talking about the behind the scenes footage they've released a few months ago.

Actually, I had reasoned that but hadn't bothered to edit it into my post. :P

It does make me optimistic we'll see a cutscene, at least.

Though if it is indeed like Lost World, said cutscene will be at Boom instead of at E3. Seeing what the in-game cutscenes would look like would be fairly nice, however. What's the ratio of in-game models to CGI going to be, etc.

There will most likely be a demo(s) for E3.

Then SEGA will showcase the game at Comic-Con (At their arcade + inside the convention center at the Archie booth w/ Aaron Webber) and maybe even be playable on both Wii U and 3DS at the Nintendo lounge (they had 4 player demos last year),

and finally the demo will be playable at Sonic Boom / SoS before it's released near the end of the year.

Not sure what to expect, maybe a full level with a boss fight?

I'd like to see if any progress has been made on the in-game models... because the ones in the first trailer looked a bit like Aardman Animation characters!

Mr. Frost said we'd be seeing those updated models at e3 already, I believe.

I hope that we'll find out how the co-op gameplay is going to work. I want to play this game with friends during story mode, but not if my screen's cut in half.

One thing that'd rock would be a  Stephen Frost/Aaron Webber team-up of sorts, to advertise, showcase, co-op play and magnificently market Sonic Boom.

Perhaps also a mini-episode of sorts, tying into the game and/or tv show.

There might even be a fresh bounty of first edition merchandise for the Sonic Boom franchise; toys, figures, exclusive prototypes and that all that, to plant seeds of interest as well.

So like an Online multi-player Co-op mode?

Yeah, but unfortunately it was confirmed a while back that this wouldn't have any online multiplayer (which kind of sucks since I have no one to play with).

No, I mean I'd rather have players 1 and 2 be kept on-screen together or have player 1 look at the gamepad if the two players get too far apart, rather than traditional splitscreen.

I'd like the gamepad thing (I think I heard they were gonna do with this). Really, if there's one thing the gamepad is great for, it'd be this. Of course, most just prefer online, but I do like having friends over to play games with sometimes.

I'm sad that there's only local multiplayer, but think of it this way.

An extremely fast character able to blaze across a map in seconds + someone not having very good internet connection.

Eh?

Not to mention, adding online multiplayer would probably increase the development time by an enormous amount, and nobody can tell me wrong when I say that there's a lot of people who want this RIGHT NOW in a way that would put Sonic 06 to shame.

However, this is a far different case because the devs here are smart enough to make people wait until they can actually design the game well and test it to perfection quality.

BRB have indicated, as I recall it, that the game will receive a more formal announcement at E3, so I'd expect at the very least a new trailer and a lot of new interviews, press material, probably demo footage, etc.  We'll learn something about the 3DS version, too.  Either way I would imagine we'll at least double the amount of material we've already seen and heard of the game and have a much better idea of what it'll be like to actually play.

If that's the case, I'm really bummed out I only get to go to E3 as a retailer. I'd kill to be able to access the press area.

I'm hopeful whatever's on the main floor will be killer, at least.

...somewhat involved with the topic, I ponder what sort of promotional material will be present at the SEGA booth. I hear they don't usually give out freebies at the booth, but with all this "Year of Sonic" stuff, maybe this year would be an exception?
