"I think the question we'd ask is, 'What is the Wii audience looking for, and what would we want to deliver that has emotionally powerful narrative?' And that probably wouldn't be exactly the same as everything else we do; we did a DS game and that was already very different from what we've done before, and the PC-only SKUs we did years ago were very different than the ones we've done for console... They're all different from one another. If we did a Wii game I think we'd approach it with the target audience in mind first and the vision of delivering an emotionally powerful narrative and go back to our basics in terms of some of the pillars of gameplay we'd like to bring to bear – exploration, progression, customization, conflict, story, narrative, and characters. How do we adapt that to the platform? That's how we'd approach it. The interface design on the Wii is very different from the other platforms, and that's really an opportunity because you can actually tell different kinds of stories and convey a different type of narrative. In the end the players are all human regardless of platform and they all want to feel something powerful and engaging. As a developer, you just need to really adapt and customize depending on the platform. We'd be intrigued by the idea of developing on Wii but we have nothing to announce right now. We do have some unannounced projects that we're not ready to talk about yet, and they are different from some things we've done in the past... Our goal, really long-term, is to broaden our base and continue to differentiate and have diversity of choice on different platforms, because we know there are different audiences on platforms like mobile and Wii, and different geographic markets and distribution and business models. It's exciting, but you can't do all things at one time." - BioWare's Ray Muzyka

I think one is near certain to be another Sonic RPG, it could even be their first Wii game.

I haven't played Chronicles, but I heard the music was quite criticised (and from what I've heard of it, it deserves to be so), so they should get just Richard and/or Jun only on the soundtrack. Who was the other guy besides Richard who did Chronicles' soundtrack?

And how about Wi-Fi this time? it was planned for the original wasn't it?

What didn't you like about Chronicles and would want improved in a possible Wii sequel?

I wish I could say more, but I really didn't have anything planned to say for something like this. All I can really say is that the original Chronicles suffered badly from the DS's limitations (which wasn't the fault for the shitty music so much as it was copyright issues or some shit like that with the songs forcing them to throw in midi sheets at the last second), and the Wii could easily make the most of things I would've expected from the original. Can't specify them right now to be honest, but the possibilites are there, and obvious.

Just wondering, shouldnt this be in the Games area?

2nd to stay on topic, Hmm. Since I didnt play SC and is not really familiar with Bio's games (except bioshock) I don't have much to say yet. But it seems like Bio is trying to help the Wii out soo I'm for it. Now to wait and see what the games are...

There wont be anymore SEGA games from Bioware, EA owns Bioware and hates SEGA with a passion, (recent conflict being tennis games)

Bioware already announced a sequel before Chronicles 1 was even finished, and to my knowledge that's unaffected by EA and Bioware's partnership (if only on account that it's Bioware's new handheld division, and not the main guys, developing). Dead wrong, buddy. Edited by Blacklightning

Pretty much meh. I'm not interested in an RPG Chronicles styled.

You understimate EA and their ability to hold grudges. They still haven't forgotten the fantastic Dreamcast heel turn. They're not ones to waste money though, that above everything else, so I can see them shrug at Chronicles 2.

lol, they pushed up the release date of their tennis game just to beat SEGA, that's how much they hate them still. Wouldn't be surprised if they payed Nintendo to not bundle any motion plus with any SEGA game.

Pretty much all of it. The quality of writing for the characters' personalities and their interactions is the only significant thing that I could say I liked, and even then the personalities that Bioware gave the characters doesn't really line up with how I think the characters should act...it feels like I'm reading someone else's Sonic and not the Sonic, the same sort of feeling I get from fanfiction and which I've only very rarely had from the games ('06, mostly).

Beyond that I really don't see much of value in Chronicles, and for that reason I'd prefer whatever plans there are for a Chronicles 2 to die off. Even if the sequel would turn out better than the original, it feels like it'd be an uphill climb just to end up at a mediocre peak. I'd rather see them get someone else to make a new Sonic RPG or just ditch the idea entirely.

Really? Do you really think that's why? Do you think that EA, the second largest thrid party developer would hold such a grudge, shift their stuff around, pay money, and possibly hurt themselves, just out of hate for SEGA. That's pretty dumb.

Personally I loved Chronicles, I think the writing was the best out of any Sonic game, and I am really hoping one of these new Wii games is a sequel.

I think the very fact that The Old Republic is even in development makes for reasoning that EA are not such stubborn bastards as you're making them out to be, Redmenace.

If EA was so dead-set on keeping Bioware from working with Sega, the first Sonic Chronicles wouldn't have been completed, and it especially wouldn't have been localized in Japan. Just the fact that Bioware is even localizing The Dark Brotherhood in the first place indicates to me that they're not done.

Frankly, I think part of the reason why the first game suffered so much is because it was a brand new development team working on their first project with very limited hardware. Other than that, really, the things I disliked most about the game were the music and the shortness of it. Otherwise, I thought it was pretty good.

I don't see why Chronicles is hated so much. o_O I liked it, especially the dialogue and character of Sonic and co. Knuckles was FINALLY treated well too. -3- Yes the music sucked, yes it was too short, but it was still good!

If Bioware is working on some Wii games, I hope one of them is Chronicles for the Wii. Not only because I'd love to see a sequel on a different console, but also because~ well, I just want to hear Shade's voice. =P

Yes please. Preferably Tails Adventures 2: Revenge of the Battle Kukkus.

Having just re-finished that game yesterday, I can say with no reservations that needs more Battle Kukkus.

I'd rather not have a Wii Sonic RPG, if only because Sega would probably be compelled to add voice acting to it (regardless of who was developing it). I shudder at the mere thought. One of my favorite parts of Chronicles was that no one audibly said anything throughout the whole game.

I also really, really, really hate games that assume that the Wiimote works just like the stylus on the DS and plays accordingly.

I doubt they'd do that. I thin they'd have you press button and make actions like in the trampoline events of Mario & Sonic.

Perhaps not anymore, but they were bitches once, and that kind of behaviour was not favorable for my opinion of them now. They might be changing though, but I still need to see it.

Careful what you wish for

Anyway, I liked the game too, so it would be interesting to see how a sequel in the Wii comes out.

I think the dialogue was my biggest gripe with the game's presentation. The characters seemed so off sometimes, it felt like I was reading a fan fiction.

I don't really follow Bioware that much, so I can't say. I will however say that it's rare to see a direct sequel to a handheld game on a console.

A new Tails game would be awesome, but I'd be a little uneasy about Bioware handling it after Chronicles.

Sonic Chronicles = SRA's submarine mini-game

Wait, how would a Wii Chronicles game even work/ Don't tell me you'd be pointing the remote at the screen and waving it around to execute moves and shit.

I've warmed up to Shade after a while, and she's currently my favorite thing about Chronicles.

That being said, my overall reaction to the game, after playing it through three times, is rather mixed. Storywise, it seemed more event driven than character driven at times, and seemed more concerned with having "cool things" happen in the Sonic universe than developing characters. Knuckles probably got the best actual development, showing that he can stand against someone he thinks is wrong while at the same time feeling compassion for them.

Also, the story doesn't so much end so much as it just stops.

In terms of gameplay, I loved the animation during the battle scenes, and I liked how the maps were played slightly like Sonic platformers. I did not however, like how I was often unable to see what was going on during a POW move due to be focused on getting the touch screen quick time event right, or how I was forced to pick certain team members in order to progress through map screens(The downside of trying to incorporate platform elements into the maps).

Also, the gameplay felt too shallow. More often than not, leveling up seemed almost meaningless, and items, with the possible exception of some of the Chao, might as well not have been there.

I'll admit that I do have faith that whatever Bioware would come up with for a Wii sequel would be an improvement. This game seemed like an experiment, so maybe the next game will feature whatever they learned from said experiment.

You're right. I'm actually afraid that she might be voiced by Bella Hudson. Urgh. >.>

Besides if Chronicles is made into a Wii game then it obviously won't be done by that handheld team. Instead, it'll be by the original team, and they're the ones who make the better Bioware games! No midi music! =P

By no means is Bella Hudson a bad voice actor, but I don't think she can really do a very good range. Wave and Blaze are too similar sounding, as are Maria and Tikal. I wouldn't know what to expect for Shade's voice because whenever I imagine it all I hear is Blaze's voice. Marine of the other hand, I know exactly what to expect for. And possibly Ix, too. That is, if he's not dead like.

Sonic Chronicles on Wii could work, and it would be especially nice if they tried to mimic the overworld art style. That's what made Chronicles look so sexy on the DS so assuming that if it was on the Wii that it would be 3D, I'd really love to see that. What they shouldn't do is try to do the same type of control for POW moves. Really, that would be nothing short of stupid.
