"Toddlers toddlers toddlers, I don't play baby games for babies because I'm not a baby." Holy crap man you could not possibly make it more obvious that you're a child trying very hard to look mature. What are you, 11? 12?

I find Sonic Colours very dull and cringe-worthy, and far too childish. "I don't play baby games for babies because I'm not a baby." - What? Where did I say that? Nowhere. I'm not insulting anyone for liking it, am I? No. Some may like it, and some may not. It's my personal opinion.

You lack the intelligence to continue this argument.

Also, you just contridicted yourself:

A teen/adult that likes ShtH is just buying into a shallow, childish understanding of maturity, one that places some inherent value on "restricted" things like guns and swear words, rather than understanding that these things need to be used to create depth and are not deep in themselves.

You're just as stereotypical.

Not anymore. Anyone who feels the need to defend one with the opinion card because it doesn't make any actual sense needs more. Oh, I understood perfectly what you said. As it turns out though, the definition you posted doesn't exactly support your argument as much as you think it does, so don't blame me if you can't handle that.

Or, as you would probably put it:

toofunny.gif

You can't even elaborate, therefore you're still irrelevant to this argument.

You've shown no hesitation to call Colors a baby game for babies, so you really can't take the high ground here.

What if they like Hitler? No opinion is immune to criticism. Not even if you say "this is a place only for my opinion liking things".

I said it's designed for toddlers. I highly doubt they designed Colours with teens-adults in mind. Once again, it's my personal view. You like it? Good for you. I'm not going to attack you for it.

In the space of 3 sentences, you say the game is for little kids 4 times. It isn't hard to see where this is going.

You lack the intelligence to continue this argument.
You know the words, but you don't actually know when to use them.

Also, you just contridicted yourself:

You're just as stereotypical.

Go on, explain this contradiction to me. I'm sure it's hilarious.

Said the pot to the kettle.

Can you? I said everything I needed to in my first post. The rest of this argument is basically you saying "I'm right because I damn well say I am", which even in a topic with otherwise positive intentions is a terribly immature and senseless attitude to have.

*Sigh* I'll just be repeating myself, because you still fail at understanding.

You don't understand it? Brings me back to my point, you don't have the intelligence to continue this argument.

Basically, any teen or adult that likes ShTH is labelled as "just buying into a shallow, childish understanding of maturity, one that places some inherent value on "restricted" things like guns and swear words, rather than understanding that these things need to be used to create depth and are not deep in themselves."

You've basically come up with your own stereotype. Congrats.

When I saw Shadow kill Eggman for the first time (I was like....11), I thought it was scary and dark for a Sonic game.

Now, I think its hilariously silly, stupid, and way over the top (not to mention horribly OOC).

So yeah, the game is pretty much is a child's perception of "cool, edgy, and dark"

"I can't be wrong, you're just too dumb to understand!" Yeah, buddy...that doesn't work.

So then, tell me, what is it that you get from the story? Where is what I said not accurate?

I'm into horror, and dark things. Label me as a Goth, if that helps. I liked the dark-theme. It was far more interesting than a lot of the other main-series stories. The story is a good story, which could've/should've been pulled off much better than it was.

Haha, wow, you are wasting your time if you think ShtH is dark. At least go play Majora's Mask or something.

edit: Seriously, you like a game about an angry little hedgehog with a gun because you're goth. It's...I can't even take it seriously enough to form a response.

ShtH being a poor game doesn't mean it isn't dark, both from a general perspective and in comparison to the rest of the series. I'm not sure how this is arguable, much less grounds to mock someone.

It is a game about a cartoon animal. If you think that's goth, I'm more goth than you, and I'm not goth at all.

I didn't call the game Gothic, I said I'm into horror and darkness, and that you can just label me as a Goth. I said the game is darker than any of the other entries in the series, which it is.

It's like you're trying to twist things, because you don't have much ground to hold yourself on.

But you're buying into a ridiculous stereotype of maturity and darkness starring a cartoon hedgehog!

I've defended Heroes, but trying to pretend this game isn't shitty is beyond all reason. Even if you ignore:

  • The shitty writing that tries too hard to be edgy
  • The stupid tacked-on guns
  • The horribly-controlled vehicles
  • The ugly shiny graphics
  • The stupid cutscenes that are honestly worse than Adventure, even with the mouth movements
  • The convoluted story
  • The meh-ish music
  • The GOD AWFUL controls that feel like the ice-skating stages from Mario
  • The voice acting

You are still left with a very bad game.

Um. Isn't this topic supposed to be appreciating Shadow The Hedgehog or at least it's good points to people? Where'd this debate come from? But anyways. I did like Shadow alot when I was a kid. Now it's just ok to me. Although if they ever did make a Shadow the Hedgehog 2 and fixed everything that people hated about the game, I wouldn't mind and I'd look forward to it. :)

This can be applied to any Sonic game, but just changing "Maturity and darkness" to "Immaturity and light-heartedness".

Let's just end it here.

Can't really say this game is good, I mean its not as bad as people make it out to be, but at the same time there's nothing particularly good about it either.

Lightspines I think a way to get Dio off your back is to acknowledge how bad the game is, I mean yeah, you can like it all you want but that doesn't make it good, its more of a Guilty Pleasure than anything.

If there's something that's good about it, it's the music.

Oh, and the unintentional comedy. Bust a gut laughing at this;

Screenshot-GCN-PS2-Xbox-ShadowTheHedgehog-2.png

as well as the scene when he 'executes' Eggman, has a potty mouth for no reason than to look "Badass" and laughed narm-tastically in the evil endings;

Except a story about a cartoon hedgehog should be light-hearted and not particularly mature.

Let's just end it here.
If you've got nothing better than "I'm goth", sure.

Shitty concept executed decently > Fantastic concept executed in the worst way possible. I can tolerate Shadow, not Heroes.

I kind of agree with this. The thought of having a Sonic character going around gunning down humans and aliens is a remarkably silly concept, but all things considered, I think Sonic Team pulled it off decently. The branching storyline was an interesting idea, if not a little convoluted in execution. Some of the levels, like Digital Circuit or Space Gadget, while not as fun as previous games, were enjoyable in their own right and would be right at home in a regular Sonic game. And while the gunplay was silly and unnecessary, a few of the weapons were integrated quiet seamlessly into the gameplay (some not so much, but I digress).

All in all, I didn't find Shadow great. But it could've been a LOT worse given the concept.
