Sonic IDW Trade Paperbacks Now Available in Mexico

IDW’s Multilingual Expansion Continues.

This month, IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog has expanded into yet another territory as Mexican publisher Kamite has begun selling trade paperbacks of the series. The first trade (with options for four possible covers) is currently available via Kamite.com.mx for 299.00 MXN, and covers the first four issues of the series.

While many regions previously had their own Sonic comics, IDW sits apart by offering foreign licensing, allowing other publishers to localize and release the comics in other regions. Their foreign licensing info page touts that Sonic the Hedgehog Vol. 1 has language rights holders for “French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, [and] Turkish.” This, combined with SEGA’s expanded localization efforts give access to solid stories, characters, and adventures to a truly global fanbase.
