Sonic Frontiers TGS 2022 Trailer Reveals Super Sonic Gameplay

We knew he was going to appear at some point in the game, but SEGA has gone ahead and revealed Super Sonic in this latest Sonic Frontiers trailer. The video was released this morning to coincide with the Tokyo Game Show event in Japan, and features some cool new footage. Check it out below.

Looks like Sonic will be able to turn Super in order to face off against the so-called Titans within the Starfall Islands. Will Super be saved for an end-of-game section, as is tradition in 3D Sonic games? Or will you be able to transform a number of times to defeat Titans as and when they show up?

  1. Nice, I hope they done away with the 3D games’ tradition of saving Super for final bosses, its about time if you ask me.

      1. I should have worded that better, I meant more like its time (for the 3D games) to have Super playable at a very early point in the gameplay and story.

  2. Great that Super Sonic is back again!

I do find it odd however, that he is featured in a trailer for the game. They don’t usually include Super Sonic, think the only exception is Sonic Unleashed if I recall correctly.

If Super Sonic is part of the main gameplay loop, what will the final battle be? Will Sonic get a new form? Will Hyper Sonic finally make a return? Can’t wait to find out!
