The Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie has just been delayed. The Paramount Studios-produced flick will now release on 14th February 2020.
The news has come straight from movie director Jeff Fowler, via his Twitter channel. “Taking a little more time to make Sonic just right,” he wrote, alongside the above image revealing the new release date.
However, the delay announcement is welcome as many fans were concerned that the artists working on the film might have had to endure intense crunch to make it for the movie’s original Fall 2019 date. Fowler used a hashtag in his tweet that suggested that VFX artists’ time will indeed be respected.
The choice of new date is particularly amusing, given that Tim Miller is associated with the Sonic movie project, who has previously used the Valentine’s Day period to release Deadpool.
