Alita: Battle Angel Composer Junkie XL Is Scoring Sonic Movie Soundtrack

The list of big names working on the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, due for release this year, just got bigger!

Dutch musician Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) is currently scoring the live action hybrid film.

Holkenborg is reknowned in Hollywood for his contributions to blockbuster movie soundtracks for more than 2 decades, featuring on the soundtracks for the Matrix, Blade, and Inception, as well as composing the score for the Mad Max: Fury Road and Deadpool. Holkenborg is also no stranger to the world of video game scores, having contributed to franchises such as FIFA and Need For Speed.

Holkenborg was most recently the composer for the Alita: Battle Angel soundtrack.

The Sonic movie marks the first collaboration between Holkenborg and Director Tim Miller since their work on the Deadpool movie in 2016.

    Oh My God! They’re using this tired old tactic!

    Hey everyone, let’s keep announcing famous studio names as producers and composers and actors and caterers, so we can keep distracting you for the fact that his movie is going to suck!

    This is friggin Batman v Superman: Dawn of Edgelords and Sucky Swad all over again.

    Are we sure that this is being made by Paramount and not Warner Bros?! This sounds more their gimmicks.

    though i wouldn’t put it past SEGA to do something similar. After all, the soundtracks to all 3 Classic Sonics are forever barred to them to use, because they thought it was so “clever” to ask famous pop starts to compose their music rather than use in-house music.
