Comic Previews: Sonic the Hedgehog #291, Sonic Universe #94 and Sonic Super Digest #19

We start off the year by ending our look to the past and wrapping up the sea-faring case!

The initial solicits have been released for January’s comics, and there’s thrills to be had as both of the running arcs reach their climax! First up, in Sonic the Hedgehog #291, Sonic and Tails have spent the entire adventure running around Angel Island and becoming victim to Knuckles’ nefarious traps.

Now, having caught up to him at the Hidden Palace Zone, it’s time for Sonic pay retribution by taking on the gullible fighter, while also having to convince him that Eggman is the real enemy! But what other surprises lay in store for Sonic and Tails as they close in on stopping the Death Egg? Find out in “Genesis of a Hero”: part 4.

SONIC and Tails head for ADVENTURE in “Genesis of a Hero” Part Four: Our celebration of the Blue Blur’s 25th anniversary comes to a close with a look back to the most titanic turning point of the Classic Era! This is “The Case of the Pirate Princess”: part 4.

The PIRATE PLUNDERING reaches its peak in “Case of the Pirate Princess” Finale: The Chaotix Detective Agency’s deep cover in the pirates’ ranks may be too deep to escape! In the heart of a long-lost temple, Cpt. Shellbreaker stands poised to find an ancient power. Can the Chaotix finally rescue Princess Undina? Can they rescue themselves? 1. I kinda thought the unknown character on SU 93’s B Cover was The Pirate Princess and from the looks of SU 94’s Covers I think that guess was right. I wonder who that nervous looking pink character in the corner of SU 94’s A Cover is as well… I also quite like how Amy Rose has her Winter/Equestrian Outfit on the Super Digest Cover too. Next months Solicitations should be interesting since we will finally find out what the direction the main story of Archie Sonic is going to take.

    1. Agreed. Kind of hoping there’s going to be more original stories rather than game adaptations.

  2. Is Cover B for SU a Back to the Future the reference? I see a Sonic in a fedora near the pearl and another Sonic pulling a Marty McFly…
