S&ASRT Gamescom Wii U screenshots 4

Sumo Digitals absolutely brilliant Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed managed to win the hearts of many fans as well as critics. If you’ve read our review of the game, or played it, you’ll probably know that it’s quite an exceptional racing game that will find the weak and crush them!

Anyway.

CVG have announced their nominations for this years Golden Joystick awards and ASRT has been nominated. Oh my! What category you may ask? Multiplayer! But I think it’s got a chance to win, it’s only up against. Battlefield 3, Halo 4, Black Ops 2, StarCraft 2, Fifa 13 and… Borderlands 2… as well as a few other popular games.

Hmmm, you know, I like it’s chances of winning /blind faith.

And win it shall! *Puts on the music from the Golden Axe stage* The winner is decided by public vote, come on you lot, get on there and vote, we shall crush the other games, see them driven before us and hear the lamentations of their women!

You can vote for the game here.

  1. Kinda scary it’s been more than 6 months since I’ve played.. I checked the game once to see if anything was available and got Alex Kidd..
The patches kind of threw me off.. I like to play a game as it was intended upon release, changes that aren’t properly detailed just doesn’t do it for me..

It was a fun game thou, a solid racer compared to Mario Kart which relies heavily on items to win

  2. I voted! The game is an absolute blast. My only thought, is that nobody is ever online (on wii u) anymore.

    1. A couple months ago was when I first went on the online multiplayer and even then there was very rarely anybody online! That really was a let down for me because I was so ready to show others who was boss, but I guess I came too late to the party. I agree with you. (Yes, this is the Wii U version.)

  3. I think any vote with Battlefield or CoD in it is already lost. I’m not saying that’s a good thing, but um, it’s a thing.

  4. Black-ops 2 AND Halo?!?! WE HAVE GOT TO BEAT THEM IN ORDER TO SHOW THOSE STUPID SHOOTERS WHAT AN ACTUAL VIDEO GAME IS! GO SONIC!!!!! 😀 😀 😀
What bothers me though is the fact that it is in the multiplayer category. How in the world did this game end up there? Isn’t there a better category for it?

    1. Well, to be fair, I wouldn’t call the shooters “stupid”. The games are fun (especially when you die in a really ridiculous way that is obviously a glitch). I’ve played a little CoD, played a lot of Halo, and they both have merits. My problem is that either the fanbase is a bit bad, or the games are so fed on that they knock the chances of anything else winning out the window.

Which really, isn’t fair…There should perhaps be categories for Multiplayer. “Multiplayer Racing, Multiplayer Shooter”, etc. Then perhaps the winner of each category goes in the overall bet. Much more fair, methinks. *Nods*

And before you ask, I just like to stick up for what IS good about every game, regardless. And if you have fun with them, it’s even better!

  5. In my opinion, Its better than all of those games. Cept maybe for Borderlands 2…

Its such a great game. Especially on PC where just watching the beautiful graphics at 60fps is good enough. Its so well rounded that I can honestly say that it is the greatest racing game of all time in terms of replayability and style.

Mario Kart 8 wont stand a chance.

  6. I bought a Wii u recently, and just a couple days ago I made my first purchase this game.
I am so impressed with All Stars Racing Transformed. Im not big on racing games but this game just feels so polished and controls so beautifully.
Also, a chance to see Ristar and Alex Kidd in HD. Count me in.

Its still missing toejam and earl and vectorman but I digress.

  7. My current opinion on transformed is 2-4 PLAYER RACES ARE AWESOME!! Honestly it’s so fun playing with others who are on your skill level.
    1-Player????? I haven’t played it since around February….

  8. No way, this game has so many bugs and glitches it looks more like a beta version than a definitive one – and things are worse: the 3DS version was build in a way it can’t be patched, which means I’ll have to keep my $35 beta version forever with me, as long it’d be rare to find someone interested in buying this game – even being used.

  9. Sonic the Hedgehog is my favorite franchise, but Borderlands 2 was the best multiplayer experience I’ve had in a long time.
