Nintendo Announces New M&S London Blue Wii Bundle For Europe

Nintendo has announced that European gamers will soon be able to get their hands on a new limited edition blue Wii. This new colour variation of the console will come bundled with a copy of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games when the game hits store shelves November 18th. It will also come with blue Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk controllers and a sticker sheet featuring characters from the game.

It’s worth noting that this Wii console is the new model Nintendo announced a short while back. This newly configured hardware isn’t compatible with GameCube games and accessories. Details such as the price of this bundle and where it will be available to pre-order and purchase are currently unknown. We’ll pass that information along when we get it.

  1. Man, what’s with the no USA love for both this game and Generations? haha, Oh well, cool to see this!

      1. A lot of people bought Wiis to play gamecube games. I went to 2 of my local EB-Games and Gamestop and neither had gamecubes for sell.

        1. I bought a wii because it could play both wii and Gamecube games. Because that was the main feature for it. Oh, and I’d already bought Sonic Colours when I didn’t even own a wii. 😀

The main reason it won’t be GC compatible, is probably because they couldn’t be bothered to put the controller solts in. And they think gamecube has died out by now, and they’re trying to raise the hype for the Wii U.

          1. Well, here’s hopeing to downloadable GC games on the Wii U. But without the Gamecube controller slots…idk, I play many Wii games with it, Colors, Unleashed, and Brawl come to mind.

      2. I sure wish I had waited, I bought a gamecube just before the wii came out, just so I could play SA2B, now I might as well use it as a door stop, only have 3 games for it =|

  2. Why do they include a wii? The common consumer wouldn’t even consider this if they didn’t have one.

  3. Hey everyone!! Buy a dead console for full price, oh, and guess what? It also can’t play gamecube games!

    1. Apparently it’s not dead if they’re still making games for it such as Mario and Sonic 2012 London Olympic games and also the 3rd entry to the storybook series

      1. yeah another 3rd storybook series! im not gonna lie but storybooks were fun and epic. I wonder what is the third storybook is about? Also do you know they are making another allstars game.

    2. YEAH! THIS CONSOLE SUCKS NOW BECAUSE IT CAN’T PLAY GAMES THAT CAME OUT FOR A CONSOLE 10 YEARS AGO! Holy crap, you guys actually bitch about that? If you have a Gamecube, why do you bitch about the Wii not being able to play Gamecube games. Trying to find some reason to not like it, eh?

  4. Kids these days don’t know a good classic game when they play one, that’s probably why there’s no gamecube compatibility.
Quite odd though; they could have just left backwards compatibility in there.

  5. So this is Europe’s way of preparing everyone for wii U. Slowly but surely weening people off of the wii compatibility.

  6. Lol who the hell wants a dead console that can’t even play epic games from the past generation anymore? The hell are we gonna be playing? Kirby, Zelda, and this for the next 8-12 months until we are able to play decent games again?
Idk what Nintendo was thinking with this one.

    Haha jesus xD

  7. This is the straw the broke the camels back, SEGA! Why U no luv ‘Merica? D=

    Seriously though, I’m jealous!

  8. WTF!??!?! Is the USA (Nintendo s biggest $$$$$$$$ contributor) gonna get screwed on this deal?!?! I’m about to switch to X-Box!!! stupid ass Nintendo
