This is awesome. A couple of bedroom composers have made a cover version of Kenichi Tokoi’s Planet Wisp theme from Sonic Colours, using nothing but a Logic sequencer and a keyboard.
According to Aivi Tran’s YouTube page, collaborator Dave Harris transcribed the entire track by ear – which is not an easy job by any stretch of the imagination. Aivi then took to her Roland RD-700NX and performed the piano and solo sections.
It’s a great take on a fantastic track, and there’s even a surprise Green Hill Zone medley thrown into the mix as well. It’s a testament to epic the Sonic Colours soundtrack in its entirety really is. Now, somebody do Starlight Carnival!
