Sonic Colours Out Now Across Europe, Launch Trailer

Sonic Colours Out Now Across Europe, Launch Trailer

The long wait is over, as Sonic Colours is now available at retail across Europe for both Wii (modelled above by Sonic & Tails) and DS platforms, with the U.S. release soon to follow on November 16th. The game has been mostly performing well with critics and currently holds a 78 overall score on Metacritic for the Wii version and 82 on DS at the time of this article’s publication, but will the game be well received by fans? We’ll gather opinion over the next week or so.

To mark Sonic Colours‘ release, SEGA Europe has released the above trailer showing plenty of new gameplay footage, including the various Wisp powers in force and some co-op play action.

  1. I got it yesterday and am loving it so far, levels are nicely designed, the music is amasing and the new Sonic is pretty good all round, love his new sarcastic side =D

  2. @Shadzter

Personally I love it. Of course there’s 2 things I wish would’ve happened that happened in other games but the rest of the game is superior to the other games and ties as my favorite with Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles (as a whole). So yeah… I have 4 equally favorite Sonic games. XD

But Shadzter, don’t you live in the UK? Do you have Colours? If so, I know you posted the article but aren’t you gonna tell us what you think of the game? XD

  3. @FoxyBoy:
Yep, I did get the game. Those are my plushies holding my copy of the game in the photo XD I picked it up this morning and posted this article when I got back from the store. I’ve beat Tropical Resort so far and so I’ve got plenty more to do yet in it, so will probably post up my impressions at a later date, perhaps as a second opinion with TSS’s official review.

  4. @Jmack
actually in this game he is (really) had a sarcastic side, just watch the cutscens and you will know what i mean!

  5. Europeans are so lucky.

As for us Americans, our release day is Tuesday, and I have to wait until Friday to play it because of school. ๐Ÿ™

  6. I can not play my copy until I returned home to my dad and get it. I live at the school and staying with Dad on the holidays but my wii is at the school and it costs money to travel to my dad. So i have to wait ๐Ÿ™

  7. @Jakeiiii:
I’ve been hearing some have received their figures from Argos, while others haven’t. Weird. You’ll have to get in touch with Argos and see what’s up.

  9. Listening to the full version of Reach for the stars right now (thank you you tube) and I just can’t wait for christmas. (when i’m gonna get it)

  10. I read the Gametrailers score and saw their video and after playing the game I really really do not get what they were thinking. The game is amazing! It’s like Sonic Galaxy and the new Sonic voice makes him sound like a young Spider-man.

  11. Ha! I’m in America, I have to wait ’till Tuesday, but hey, first thing I’ll do after I get out of school is go to the Gamestop nearby. I’ll forget all my homework, I’ll play it the moment I get it! Period.

  12. @ Shadtzter Sorry dude. I am so so SO sorry. I didn’t know it was on the DL (downlow). I’ll keep the flap zipped thighter from now on. I found out on the Sonic News Network. It totally made me, dare I say, giddier than a schoolgirl. ๐Ÿ˜€

  13. @BlooDood:
Don’t worry about it, it’s cool and I can understand why you would be excited by that, as it is pretty awesome. It’s just I’m sure there are a lot of people who would like to discover that as a nice surprise when they meet the requirements ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. @Shadzter

    But some might overlook the requirements and never discover it. Perhaps you should inform the people in the article at least that they shouldn’t overlook those requirements. =P I’d hate for people to miss out just because of that. ^^;

  15. I’m in the U.S. so I’ve got my copy pre-ordered (with the free Sonic hat of course) I can’t wait till monday.

  16. had it since Thursday, and have to say I really am enjoying it…However, why isn’t it as bright as all the trailers?! It’s really dark despite putting brightness up on the TV

  17. This is… better than SA2
I’m so happy and sad at the same time, if only colours had Chao Gardens

  18. Jim Sterling praises Werehog!

Destructoid “Try Hard” reviewer Jim Sterling gave the Wii version a negative review with a score of 4.5/10, claiming it was “lacking important gameplay elements such as the Werehog… terribly designed…putting the focus on cheap pitfall deaths instead of real challenges.”[58]

  19. For once, I’m envious of the Europeans. But still, awesome that you guys get it early. Have to wait till Tuesday to get my copy in the US.

  20. I didn’t get the figures either :(. YAY! Got 2 Chaos Emeralds so far can’t wait to get that thing with the things. ๐Ÿ˜€

  21. I bought the DS version it’s nice.
    I finished the game.
    Asteroid Coaster PISSED ME OFF!
