TSS Competition: Know Your Enemies for Classic Goodies!

TSS Competition: Know Your Enemies for Classic Goodies!

To kick-off the month of May, we at TSS have got a distinctly classic set of goodies to give away to one lucky winner, which includes two remote control characters (1 x Sonic, 1 x Tails), a cap, a beanie, sweatbands x 2ย  and a metal keyring! Not aย  bad haul eh? To keep with the classic theme we’ve devised a rather devious task for you to perform in order to be in for a chance to snag yourself this lot.

Here’s what you have to do:
Below is a montage of all of the badniks who appear in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. We want you to name as many of these as possible!

An impossible task to name them all? Perhaps, but the entrant with the highest number of correctly named Badniks (and yes, if it comes down to it we will pick on spelling!) will snag themselves this awesome bundle. But that’s not all! The keen eyes amongst you may also spot something missing…perhaps there are more than the 20 badniks listed here? Bonus points will be awarded for identifying those possible missing badniks too! So what are you waiting for? It is time to impress with your encyclopedic knowledge of this classic game!

Please send all entries with your badniks listed and numbered, along with your name and address like this:

I. Robotnik
Mountain Fortress
Western Mobius
EGG 1000

1) Chicken launcher
2) Squid nose
3) etc…

And oh yeah, Silver Sonic doesn’t count! Please send all of your entries to the usual competition email: tbird [at] sonicstadium.org. Please submit all entries by Tuesday, 18th of May 2010. The winner along with the correct answers will be announced shortly after. The competition is open worldwide, with the exception of residents of Dead Horse, Alaska.

Good luck, and May the 4th be with you!

  1. Seems easy if you have the Internet, but I went the extra mile anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I sent in two emails because the first one I forgot to attatch the badniks picture to it. So please read the second email t bird ): sorry and thanks for your time!

  3. Cool looking Sonic racers, when’d they come out?
Despite owning several versions of the game and the game itself being my all time favourite … I can only name off the monkey

  4. That Tails reminded me of my F4F figure, although they’re of different company.

I’LL SAY, the way this competition works is fair. But to me, it’s like doing a school test of subjects I’ve never intended to learn and I don’t want to experience that one again. I’m out.

  5. ^I bet the staff’s using-

On second thought, I’d better not spoil the tricks up their sleeves. Just in case.

  6. At times like this I’m glad I still have my old sonic 2 manual =)
    All entered, fingers crossed.

  7. Like Brocky_Christ, I also used the sonic 2 manual. It’s amazing how people don’t have it. :/

  8. This was fun to relive Sonic 2 badniks. Thanks guys, hope the winner got more than I did!

  9. Nice! You’re doing great with these contests T-Bird. Not only are the tasks challenging and unique the prizes not to be missed for Sonic fans.

I can probably name half of those badniks accurately but when it comes to the Japanese names… Blimey you crazy? *shakes fists you* ๐Ÿ˜€

All the best to everyone entering!

  10. Great competition, had fun doing it! Hopefully theres none missing…Sonic 2 is my favourite of the series luckily. ๐Ÿ˜›

  11. In the case of a tie-breaker, entrants with tied scores will participate in a race around the world.
…Or maybe drawn from a hat.

  12. Now that’s something.
How about getting a bonus point for giving all the Egg mechs a fitting name?

  13. What about badniks created and named but scrapped from the games. I’m guessing they don’t count.

  14. Seankp: Scrapped Badniks don’t count, but feel free to list them!
Eggman123: Again, no points, but it’ll amuse me!

  15. If only there were some sort of useful site with lots of Sonic 2 information. I don’t know, perhaps by clicking the name of a certain handsome commenter of this post, who happens to be webmaster of the certain site he happens to be plugging, rather unsubtly. Hmmm.. If only.. ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. @T-Bird

In the event of a tie… how about… Pie Eating contest, Pizza eating contest, arm wrestle contest, make a pancake contest!

  17. Should be a bonus point to whoever comes up with the most epic tiebreaker challenge. And then we have to do the challenge. EPIC.

  18. Awesome awesome prizes!

Tie Breaker: A chili dog eating contest!

…or… an online race of ASR. ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. Had a horse in 1980, but its dead now, Can I enter even if it wasn’t called Alaska?

  20. Do the numbers in the list have to match the order the badniks appear in the list? (In which case, you should number them in the picture).

  21. No, any number – the number is more to help me see how many you’ve named.

…and by the looks of things there most likely will be a picked-from-the-hat scenario now, a lot of people are getting full marks!

  22. I would do this but unfortunately I don’t see any prizes I am interested in. That and this is extremely easy due to being on the internets

  23. This is gonna be fun
    well it was already lol
i alredy put my entry in lol

  24. Entered last night. After being able to name every badnik (in english and japanese) from memory, I have come to the conclusion that I have no life lol

  25. All I know is that Cocconuts is Aiai in Japanese. For that reason, Coconuts should be a secret character in super monkey ball.

  26. I know it’s been said but thanks to the internet this contest is a little too easy.
still, too much like work for my liking so I’ll pass this time….
    but I’ll be baack! AH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
*Disappears in a cloud of smoke*

[DWalrus now also needs to find a low calorie cure for Polio in order to enter! – T]

  27. Very tempting challenge, I accept. I doubt I may not win and end my winless streak, but I’ll try. ๐Ÿ˜›

Now where did I put my notes of badniks’ names? *searches for it*

  28. There we go. I got all of em named in japanese and english. I hope i win, because I like all that stuff, especially the hat. ๐Ÿ˜€ Welp, this is the part of the show where I….wait…..wait….WAIT….O.o

  29. All done! I got both the US manual and Japan manual and read the names from both; which required me to read Katakana, so it’s a good thing I’m learning Japanese!

  30. i feel like silver sonic should count, he was technically a badnik because his technology wasnt as high tech as metal sonic or mecha sonic, but moved and poperated like a badnik, where as metal moves on a more strategic movement base. This is why he explodes and never returns. I dunno, i just felt like he was like all the other badniks, just with more hits to kill. Or maybe im just a whinny bitch! AHAHAHA

  31. @ Wafflefactory

Silver Sonic is not a bdnik, no animals come out when you kill him. ๐Ÿ™‚

  32. [Removed your details from here dude – email your answers to the competition address! – T]

  33. I just did my entry and it took forever to make, but seeing the end product I feel kind of proud of myself for finishing it.

  34. I Sent my entry at the very beginning
I Guess we just have to wait a little longer to see who wins
And LOL to (sonictoast) Iโ€™m Waaaaaitiiiiiiiiiiiiiingโ€ LOL

  35. Can’t wait to see who wins these classic goodies. Good luck everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚
