ASR DS Supports DS Rumble Pak

ASR DS Supports DS Rumble Pak

UPDATE: We’ve just found out via Kombo.com that Amazon.com are selling the DS Rumble Pak seperately. /END UPDATE

Steve Lycett under his S0L tag over at the SSMB has revealed that the Nintendo DS version will support the DS Rumble Pak. Good news for original DS and DS Lite owners who love force feedback.

Yep – both SST and ASR support the DS Rumble pack

For those not in the know, the DS Rumble Pak is an official accessory bundled with Metroid Prime Pinball in the U.S. and Actionloop in Europe that allows compatible games to give rumble feedback though none of those games require the accessory to play them. A smaller version to fit DS Lite better than the official Nintendo one was made in Japan by a company called Ewin. It’s a good option for your games if you have it/can get it.

  1. Cool!! I have a DS Lite but this is the first time i have heard of the DS Rumble Pak! Now i have learned i new thing today^^

  2. Kind of weird how they are supporting it… I haven’t spotted that adaptor in years.

Maybe it’s a good thing that they are putting so much dedication into a product like that, even after it has been dead for a long time… I don’t know.

Excuse me while I go back to playing Perfect Dark on my Game Boy Color.

  3. Hm.. they resurrect the rumble pak from the dead, but can’t be arsed getting the GC controller to work on the Wii version ….

Steve Lycett just de-confirmed my post.

  4. I am glad that developers are still implementing the functionality. When done right, Rumble Pak functionality is quite a joy to have. For example, it is why I prefer Space Invaders Extreme on the DS instead of the PSP.

  5. What? My European version of Metroid Prime Pinball came bundled with a Rumble Pack…

Well, it just proves that you can’t trust everything that you read on Wikipedia![citation needed]

Oh, I wasn’t aware the European version of Metroid Prime Pinball came bundled with the Rumble Pak too. My wife got it with Actionloop and I thought that was the only way to get it in Europe, learn something new every day lol!
