J. Axer Confirmed as Second Fan Hire for Archie in Sonic #109 and #110

The solicitations for both Sonic #109 and Sonic #110 have been published by Archie Comics, and within them reveals a little surprise – hot on the heels of Dawn Best comes a second fan artist to formally join the fold. Talented artist J. Axer will be involved in pencilling a number of the Sonic stories going forward. Details of what those stories entail are included after the jump.

Comic Preview: Sonic the Hedgehog #108

Archie’s bringing the thunder with the upcoming Sonic #108, as it’s managed to build in three stories in one issue. Dawn Best works on the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comic series, but before that was a prominent artist in the Sonic fan community. Tristan O. Bresnen is webmaster of TSSZ (The Super Sonic Zone), a great news source for SEGASonic, Sonic Team, and other gaming news. Dreadknux’s Diaries: The Message Board Revived – Again!

Not much happened other than myself trying to revive the Message Board (yet again – this was the fourth time, and was really getting me down). However, I changed the name (from firstly, the ‘Sonic Stadium MB’, to ‘Dreadknux’s Forum’, to ‘Dead Sonic Forum’ [when I lost it for a bit]) to the ‘Sega Sonic Message Board’. Shadow Named Villain of the Year

The moody and broody Shadow the Hedgehog has made an impact on various video game outlets, as illustrated by the second annual Wizard Video Game Awards. Sonic’s doppelgänger was named the Best Villain of the Year. “Packing more ‘tude than the blue dude himself, this evil hedgehog’s killer look and dreams of world conquest had fans loving him more than hating him,” said the magazine. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Dated for US

Fresh from SEGA’s official website, we now know the release date for Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on the Gamecube for the US. According to the site, the game will hit store shelves in January 2002, which is a month after its release in Japan. That should be enough time to get all the localisation ready, from voices to extras, right? Time to get excited!
