Prominent community and gaming news fansite, TSSZ, has merged with up and coming music portal 'The Sonic Corner' to offer one consolidated place for Sonic news and community activity. The integrated site, which is still called 'The Sonic Corner', was relaunched yesterday. TSSZ webmaster Tristan Bresnen and TSC webmaster JD Harding announced the news on a special article on their website, which you can read here. Most of TSSZ's old content, which used to live on community portal Emulation Zone, has now been moved to The Sonic Corner, so you can see an archive of past news stories from Tristan there as well. TSSZ's flagship radio show, tssz|one, returned last night as well, and a webpage has been set up for donations to maintain it. We wish the unified TSSZ + TSC a successful launch, and all the very best with its future!

Now, I know the community here at TSS and TSSZ have been going at each other a few times before, but lets all put that aside us for a good cause. Today, last year, on March 11th, 2011, Japan experienced what can be called an absolute catastrophe: The Tohoku Earthquake. The aftermath of this earthquake left Japan, and the entire world, frozen. 15,000 lives of innocent people were lost on that horrible day, with 3,000 still unaccounted. It also created a nuclear disaster that is almost reminiscent of the Chernobyl Incident. Towns absolutely devastated and wiped off the face of the Earth, with some still being inhabitable. We all watched in fear of what happened on that day, and the people who lived in Japan felt it the worse. Our condolences should all go to the families who lost loved ones and friends on that horrible day, where the Earth almost seemed to have stood still. TSSZ's own Ryan Bloom and Nitrobeard's Imran will be doing what us fans consider the catastrophe of the series, Sonic 06, and will be taking in donations for the Mercy Corps Organization, which, with Peace Winds Japan, give supplies to families affected by the disaster, offer vouchers so those displaced can still buy food, help small businesses rebuild, and counsel children who witnessed the disaster firsthand. The charity drive will begin next Sunday, March 18th. Link to original story: http://www.tssznews....ace-sunday-318/
