Sonic Superstars Sonic Superstars v1.05 Patch Now Available
GX -The Spindash- posted a story in Games
The Official Japanese Sonic Twitter/X has announced that the game's first major patch is available for download leading up to the game's launch. They recommend applying this patch before starting to play. While we don't have details on what's in the patch, it likely contains stability fixes much like most Day-1 patches. And as a reminder, Sonic Superstars officially releases tomorrow... in a couple of hours. So whatever platform you've chosen, prepare for a preliminary download. -

Game Updates Latest Sonic Origins & Plus Patch Addresses Pixel Filtering, Game Gear Audio, and More
GX -The Spindash- posted a story in Games
Today, Sonic Origins has received yet another patch addressing long-standing audio-visual issues and a handful of bugs. SEGA highlighted the three most notable updates in a social media post; however, we've posted the full list below as well: A number of other issues are specified by the game's Steam update page: Though most of these issues were not game-breaking prior, the lack of pixel filtering options had been a significant criticism against the collection since launch, and the strange de-synchronized stereo effect on Game Gear games a complaint since Plus's launch. Whether you see the collection as the optimal Classic Sonic experience or a series of bizarre missteps and oversights, these fixes are a welcome addition to this year-old collection.- 22 comments

Sonic News Tips Credit: Blue Blood Original Post Content: SEGA does the bare minimum and fixed issues that should never have existed in Origins to begin with... Most of these issues, like Amy's animations in the S2 Special Stage and Game Gear audio, are so glaringly obvious that they shouldn't have ever made it into the final game. And other issues, like the screen filter and Sandopolis physics, have existed since the base version of the game launched over a year ago. It's good that SEGA fixed these issues, but they're getting no praise from me for doing so after the game already launched twice at full price with additional DLC. View full story- 22 replies

Weeks after Sonic Origins’ release, a patch for the game has finally been confirmed to be underway. In a response to a fan on Twitter, Sonic Social Media Manager Katie Chrzanowski revealed that one is in the works: Glitches in the game have ranged from common ones, such as Tails being unable to respawn near Sonic in Sonic 2, to seemingly random glitches that can do everything from random freezes to broken scripted sequences, to the water in Sonic 3 remaining white after a character jumps in with the electric shield. We should note that, aside from the Tails spawning glitch (which appears to be a universal issues), we at Sonic Stadium have largely had very glitch-free experiences with the game. I had a scripted sequence break once, our top streamer GX experienced the game briefly forgetting he had the super emeralds during his nine-hour story mode stream, and site boss Dreadknux didn’t encounter anything while he was playing the game for his review. Nevertheless, prominent people in the Sonic community have encountered and recorded the above glitches, and the issues were prevalent enough to get a response from Headcannon’s Simon Thomley. Stay tuned to Sonic Stadium for further details on the patch, and Sonic Origins as a whole!

It isn't available on all platforms yet, but Sonic Frontiers is in the middle of receiving its first major patch update. There's no new content, but there is a large number of bug fixes and performance improvements. This update makes it so Sonic Frontiers is at version 1.10. The patch notes, however, are rather generic. SEGA mentions things like "fixed random crashing bugs" and "added UI improvements", but they don't really get more specific than that. The good news is that we do know of a couple of things the update fixed, thanks to The Gamer. This update fixes a bug that would result in Titans disappearing from the game if players were to restart the boss battle with them. Another bug that is apparently fixed involves completing Chaos Island. The bug was making it so that completing tasks didn't update the island's map. As of this update, that should no longer be the case. As previously mentioned, it isn't available on all platforms yet. The update is currently for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It won't stay that way, however. SEGA did say that the update will be releasing on Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch "in the near future". They didn't give an exact date though, so if you have the game on one of those 3 platforms, you'll just have to wait.

They also fixed the exploding the first jelly bean rocket on Sweet Mountain to actually... explode jelly beans instead of nothing. I've also heard this patch caused the music to go into mono apparently... one step forward, and another back.
