  1. Ever want to tell people passing you by on the street that you're not weak? Or maybe, you're a gentle, kind soul? Or perhaps letting them know you're actual a time traveler from the future, forever haunted with hellish visions for which there might be no escape? Well, whatever it is, you sick soul, Monogram's got you covered with Wave 2 of the Sonic Bag Clips, releasing in April 2024! Not only are the usual suspects back, like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Metal and Shadow, but Monogram's introducing new characters like Super Sonic, and some more niche characters into their library! Silver, Blaze, Cream, Big and... even Infinite! Yeah, the one-off Sonic Forces antagonist once again makes a surprise return to the world of retail Sonic merch! Not bad for a currently dead guy. Now, keychains and the like appear like they're nothing special. So... why am I reporting on them? Sure, they're no Jakks, they're no Funkos... But have you SEEN Monogram's first wave of blind bags? Not only are they very high quality, forsaking generic poorly painted plastic for a strong, foam-like material and fully 3D, but they are among the earliest contenders for Sonic Frontiers specific merchandise, having both Sage and a Koco as rare chase figures! Us Sage fans must've really opened our wallets to Monogram, since the Sonic license has been renewed for round 2! And this time, they heard the message loud and clear: More deeper cuts, please! Personally, I love that more and more merchandise companies are starting to get wiser with the Sonic IP and introduce characters moreso for the fans and not just the kids and the occasionally nostalgic adults with a fleeting remembrance of the Blue Blur. With GE, Jakks and now Monogram helping lead the charge, where else do you think our favorite, lesser-known characters will go? What do you think of these new bag clips? Who are you planning to pull next time you visit a Gamestop or Hot Topic? Or, you can pre-order a whole box from Entertainment Earth right here! Happy hunting! Original Post Content: View full story
  2. SEGA Japan is launching a new set of accessory and stationary merchandise featuring Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends, in a collection called 'SONIC CARNIVAL - TOKYO'. The range includes acrylic character stands, t-shirts, tote bags, clear files and more, and is due to go on general sale on April 4. The concept for this line of merchandise follows an online art series from Sonic Channel themed after a lively carnival. As a result, the following line of toys, which are now available to pre-order, feature vibrant colours and playful patterns - particularly on the hand towels and tote bags, where you can see Sonic, Shadow and co bouncing around the place. The acrylic stand set, pictured below, is also the result of a fan survey that polled which images to use for each character. You might recognise some of the poses from the games, or even previous Sonic Channel artworks, like the Mighty arcade one there. If you want to order some stuff, note that Amazon JP ships worldwide so you can pick up the below items with ease! Take a look! Sonic the Hedgehog Acrylic Stand Collection (10 pc) Buy on Amazon JP - ¥7,700 / ~$51.18 USD Sonic the Hedgehog Hand Towel Buy Sonic the Hedgehog version on Amazon JP - ¥1,100 / ~$7.31 USD Buy Shadow the Hedgehog version on Amazon JP - ¥1,100 / ~$7.31 USD 'SONIC CARNIVAL TOKYO' T-Shirt Buy M size on Amazon JP - ¥3,900 / ~$25.91 USD Buy L size on Amazon JP - ¥3,900 / ~$25.91 USD Buy XL size on Amazon JP - ¥3,900 / ~$25.91 USD 'SONIC CARNIVAL TOKYO' Mini Tote Bag Buy on Amazon JP - ¥2,500 / ~$16.60 USD 'SONIC CARNIVAL TOKYO' Lanyard & Tag Buy Sonic the Hedgehog version on Amazon JP - ¥2,200 / ~$14.61 USD Buy Shadow the Hedgehog version on Amazon JP - ¥2,200 / ~$14.61 USD 'SONIC CARNIVAL TOKYO' Set of 2 Clear Files (Sonic & Shadow) Buy on Amazon JP - ¥1,100 / ~$7.30 USD These items were all formally revealed on the official Sonic Channel website back in January, but as we get closer to April we're now being given the chance to purchase these items for ourselves. The same items can also be found on the SEGA Ebten online store as well. Original Post Content: View full story

  4. Here's another reason to pre-order Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, if you weren't already on board with the chicken-running adventure - doing so from the official SEGA Direct online store will get you a cool limited edition strap. But only if you live in Japan. Looks cool, doesn't it? It comes with a '3D Egg', according to the SEGA Direct website. What more do you need? There are only a limited number of these going, though, so you'll need to be quick (and Japanese). Check out the official Japanese Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg website for more info, here.
  5. Wave 2 of the Sonic the Hedgehog 3D Foam Bag Clips has only just hit the shelves of Hot Topic, but accessories company Monogram is already itching for round 3! That's right, Wave 3 is officially announced! While no in-hand figures are here, the official distributor website has already released a mockup/concept image showing 2D depictions on what to expect in the very near future! And while we aren't getting a deeper cut of a one-off character on the level of Infinite or the Koco, there are certainly some gems for the hardcore fans ripe for display on your favorite backpack, lanyard or keys! Especially given the level of quality Monogram continues to bring out in this new collectable line! Take a look! We of course have a batch of returning characters in new poses, standouts being Amy with the Piko Piko Hammer, Eggman (or Egaman?) in the Eggmobile, and an Angry Tails this time around, but of course brand new characters! The whole Chaotix crew also appear to be present. Vector and Espio are part of the normal range, but if you wanna complete the trio, keep an eye out for bags including Charmy as an elusive chase variant! Super Shadow appears to be the second chase, just like Super Sonic in the last wave! Team Dark is also finally complete with the addition of probably the biggest Bag Clip in the range, E-123 Omega to go with Wave 1's Shadow and Rouge! Lastly... why, it's a "Neutral Chao!" Or... that's what Monogram wants to you believe! But with that bowtie, we know that's none other than Cheese, ready to accompany Wave 2's Cream! These characters don't often get merch, especially Cheese! So continue to show Monogram some love if you are in the market to collect more Sonic trinkets and doo-dads! And hopefully, more companies follow suit as this line gets bigger and more varied at such a fast rate! Who knows, at this pace, I wouldn't be surprised that by next September, we'll see like, Emerl at your local Gamestop blind box aisle.

  7. Over the past two weeks, Sonic Channel has promoted a partnership with Japanese pop-culture store AMNIBUS, showing off upcoming collectables, accessories, and stationary. These will be challenging to import if you’re outside Japan as the store does not offer international shipping, but there are some neat inclusions still worth appreciating from afar. Pre-orders are being accepted until March 22, and expecting to ship in May. The highlight of the collection is a set of acrylic standee figurines sold individually or as a pricey set. Though you’re probably quite familiar with the all-to-common stock art used for each, the simplicity of the extended cast propped up with clear acrylic and a small, circular stand definitely has a minimalist charm. They’re priced at ¥ 500 individually or ¥ 10,000 for a complete set. Beyond the sweet shelf swag, the collection also includes pin badges, file folders, pens, handheld mirrors, an iPhone case, a shirt design, and a color-block jacket that I presume you buy if you’re trying to paint Sonic gunpla and forgot what colors he uses. “But GX,” I hear you call out, “why would you report on such nice things that you know I cannot have.” And I reply in a hushed voice, “So that you may know my own pain when I saw this.” And because, let’s be real, acrylic standee figurines look cool.
