Would you like to publish our news on your own Sonic website? Maybe you’re strapped for content and want to make sure your pages stay up to date. Maybe you just want to look cool with our news ticker rolling along your header. Or perhaps you just want to stay updated and you don’t always want to hit the Refresh button on TSS to see what’s new. Whatever the reason, there are many reasons to stay up to date with TSS’ own feeds and ticker system.

What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) uses XML (eXtensible Markup Language) to provide news content that can be read by specially designed software. With RSS, you can see a list of headlines quickly without going to the Website, and read summaries without having to load large pages. Each story also links to the full story on TSS’ page.

How do I subscribe to The Sonic Stadium RSS?

If you have a program dedicated to read RSS feeds, use this URL:
http://www.sonicstadium.org/feed – General RSS (includes all posts and updates)
http://www.sonicstadium.org/category/news/feed – News RSS (posts marked as ‘News’ only)

If you have Mozilla, Firefox, or Internet Explorer 7, you can subscribe to the feed using that browser. Somewhere on the browser’s user interface should be an orange box – click it and follow any instructions provided by the browser to subscribe to the Sonic News feed.

You can also immediately hit our RSS feeds by clicking the links in the header bar – the orange RSS button is our General Feed, and the little ‘News Feed’ link next to it filters through and shows only our News stories. Using your browser, you can select to ‘Subscribe’ from the page you see – you’ll be automatically informed via your browser when we add a new post to the site.

The Sonic Stadium Ticker

Our ticker allows those with their own website to add the latest news stories on their own pages, and keep their visitors contantly informed. It’s a scrolling bar that reveals all of the latest News stories added to The Sonic Stadium. All you need to do is know how to edit HTML files – copy the following line of code and paste it into your website design:

Note that the Ticker only shows posts that are marked as ‘News’.
