Sonic's very first Nintendo DS outing wasn't actually Sonic Rush, but an E3 demo where players rubbed the touch screen to make the blue blur race faster. However, this actual release features pure 2D Sonic action once again, and that's no bad thing at all. Sonic's universe becomes collided with another, and so begins the introduction of Blaze the Cat - protector of the mysterious Sol Emeralds (here we go again). Unfortunately, twice the heroes also means twice the foes, as 'Eggman Nega' comes forth with his very toffy demeanour to team up with good ol' vanilla Eggman. Although Sonic Rush has been critically acclaimed for its back-to-the-roots level design and entertaining gameplay, new features such as the Tension Meter ensures that speed freaks are not left out of the equation.
