Gold…. Really? REALLY?! I know it matches up to Silver but… REALLY?! Could’ve at least been Goldy, Goldark… uh… I ran out of Gold-related names but you get my drift! Design-wise, she looks cool hough.

You would think Blaze would fill Gold’s role, without actually originating from from Silver’s timeline. So what species is this Gold?

    Reply

According to Evan Stanley, Gold is a tenrec.

      Specifically, a lesser hedgehog tenrec.

As for Blaze, there’s been enough confusion about her origins.

As it stands, Blaze lives in Sonic’s time period. She doesn’t exist in Silver’s time, because just like Sonic and everyone else from his time period except Shadow, she’s died of old age because it’s been 200 years.

So no Silver x Blaze, even though Gold just came out of nowhere.

        Reply

Their JUST friends. I really love saying that. Reminds me of whenever Ted from BSC mentions it.

I would prefer if they avoid pairing those two, I like them both, especially Blaze, though everytime they put them together I feel both lose part of their personalities and importance.

Well, Blaze came out of nowhere in 06. She pretty much had no reason to be in the game.

And really, even 06’s official site said that Blaze viewed Silver as a younger brother and nothing more.

If Silver needs a companion, then it should definitely be someone from his own time. Leave Blave in Sonic’s time.

          @Rad Dudesman

Agreed, but for some reason they keep randomly putting them together in most games, namely Sonic Colors DS, Mario & Sonic Olympic Games (portable versions) story modes and most recently in the Sonic’s birthday event in Sonic Runners.

Well 06 is hardly canon. But at least give Silver a chance for grow closer to Sol Blaze, instead of giving us Girl Silver (I bet she’ll go around saying “There’s no way!”). Should we get Boy Blaze to?

          @Rad

“If Silver needs a companion, then it should definitely be someone from his own time.”

Eh, I’d hold fire on whether Gold even fits that. Call it a sneaking suspicion.

No offence to any Silver fans, I am one myself and don’t see how this would be offensive in this day and age unless you’re a homophobe but I always thought Silver actually seemed… well… gay. I mean he was very panicky when Amy surprise groped him (don’t deny it, that’s what happened, I saw where her hand was!), very naive when it came to girls in general and he had that stereotypically gay accent too…
However I don’t see why everyone in the Sonic franchise HAS to have a romantic partner anyway, it’s like some unwritten rule where everyone has to have a partner, why? Some characters are too young anyway, others don’t really seem like they’d be that good in a relationship and besides, some people just don’t want that for whatever reason. No one even said this Gold person was his girlfriend yet, just that she exists within his world/timeline at the moment and knows him somehow.

    Goldie.

(Regarding the Sonic Universe variant)
What’s Ganondorf doing in the Sonic the Hedgehog comics?

Reply

Actually that’s Professor Von Schlemmer (which you might remember from “Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog”

Gold the Tenrec?
What’s next?
Platinum the Wolf?

Reply

Actually something like “Frost the Wolf” could work as a character from Blaze’s dimension.

    Reply

Pretty sure that’s an OC donut steel I saw once… :p

    Reply

I have the feeling a Blaze story arc will follow after Silver’s and then a Blaze and Silver story arc after that to make another trilogy like Shadow and Knuckles’ Total Eclipse.

Reply

I seriously doubt that. But good try.

    Reply

Actually I hope that doesn’t happen, but looks like a direction they would go.

      Reply

Not sure if anyone has watched the cartoon“Time warp trio” but what if gold is actually a decedent of silver? Like how the girls in “TwT” were the Protagonists Great-Grand Daughters. Would make sense why she has a similar name and head features.

Reply

I swear, there is an OC Donut Steel out there in the Deviant Sphere that may be the inspiration for this character. I know I’ve seen that design before….

I actually had a similar thought with Breezys redesign…
