Interesting concept and it looks fun to play. It’s great that we’ve already got some actual footage of the game too. Hopefully both 3D and 2D compliment each other instead of one being detrimental to the other.

Am I dreaming? I’m wordless. If this game is really what it’s showing above, this game makes me going to sleep in front of the stores when it’s going to be released. I’m almost crying tears of happines right now. This game looks awesome, best SONIC GAME EVER!!!!

Sure I have to say the grapichs sure look a bit old and outdated, but I don’t care at all. If this allows us to play awesome levels and hours of gameplay I can’t stop playing.

Thanks SEGA, u’ve just made me forget about the bad 50% of Sonic Unleashed. Cause this is 50% good unleashed + 50% perfect old age sonic. We can’t have something better!!!

          Same here, I miss Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Shadow (no guns or jeeps included). They should also either introduce a new animal character or bring back a severely underrated character like Fang, Bark, Bean, Mighty, Ray, Tiara, or Honey. Someone from before the Dreamcast days.

        Naw, I feel like the majority hates the newer characters starting with the ones created with Sonic Adventure. Most people seem to enjoy Tails and Knuckles, although Amy may be pushing it.

          but amy had a classic character, and I think the should be at least seen in tis game. But with this in mind there will also be other unwnted characters. Such as silver, big, jet, blaze, etc. And sega said sonic will revisit his past which means ’06. But I don’t thin they can screw this up.

Alright! Who wants to complain first?…. No one? Not even a “This is a Sonic fan remix ripoff!” or “Fail! Classic Sonic should have Sprites not a model!” comment?

Cool! Even though I don’t have a console for this it will be fun seeing this ROCKET off. And people like 0Sonic Parad0x (I think his name was) LASER they’re way to the time attack. Poor Best Buy and other Gaming retailers, They have to deal with a FRENZY of crazy fan on the first day, while Wii owners feel a VOID inside their hearts

OMFG Now I am officially jealous of the 360 & PS3 owners out there. Whatever SEGA’s planning on doing with the next Mario & Sonic game, I wish they’d scrap it all now to make a version of Generations for the Wii. I wouldn’t care if they made a completely different game out of it like they did with Unleashed, just as long as they do it :'(

Looks way past cool, but classic sonic if he officially has a voice needs his own one, when Samus had a voice in other m it destroyed alot of gamers childhood of Samus, plus it would be better if both Sonics are there own characters, if you have classic sonic with modem sonic voice and portrayal it would pretty much suck and wont be classic sonic.You need a jaleel type sonic performance. Classic sonic could make and break this game within the fan base , trust me if he aint done right there will be arguments with the fan base.

    “Arguments” is putting it mildly. Actually no matter what people will complain about giving classic Sonic a voice. It’s pretty much inevitable. There are a lot of people who hate Jaheel White’s Sonic, but if they do something different the SatAM fans will have a fit.
    But yes, I agree that, no matter what, Classic Sonic with modern Sonic’s voice would be awful.

    I would really like to see a silent Classic Sonic, but I’m not gonna get my hopes up too high. I just would want Jaleel White (or even someone sounding like him) to do it, NOT a Modern Sonic voice. It would be unfitting and just sound off.

OH WOW!
I’ve been yearning to see Green Hill Zone in 3D HD for years! The screenshots are REALLY impressive! Tears almost came to my eyes while watching them!
Guess this game is worth buying PS3 or Xbox 360 for. (Then I’ll be able to play Sonic ’06 too, another thing I’ve been desiring since 2006)

Also, how much you wanna bet critics are gonna praise the Classic Sonic levels, but treat the Modern Sonic levels like they did the Werehog? 😛

    I know what you mean. SEGA kinda did a bad thing bringing classic sonic back. On Youtube, there were numerous comments saying ” MODERN SONIC SUCKS, CLASSIC SONIC FTW!!!! ”im just wondering how mad classic fans will be when classic sonic goes away. its not like he’s gonna be in another sonic game.

They can’t mess this up gameplay wise..It’s too amazing…but they can mess up story wise, as well as script wise. The script in colors had sonic saying the most retarded crap…I hope they don’t give him such a kiddish and immature script in generations. I like the SA and SA2 sonic attitude. And since it looks like the other sonic characters are back, we might be seeing metal sonic, as well as other older enemies. I just hope tails and them aren’t playable in the main storymode

Although this is by far the best looking game that I’ve seen (Not just for sonic, but in all the games I’ve played) there’s still one thing that worries me:

Will this game be momentum based? (For at least Classic Sonic’s levels)

        “Momentum-based” – The easiest way to explain it is to give an example, you know in Genesis Sonic 2, where you could more or less hold right and jump occasionly and Sonic would get faster after loops, bouncing on a badnik at the correct angle, that sort of thing? Yeah, it’s that:)

        Also, this game is looking absolutly spectacular! After some of the abominations that Sonic’s anniversaries have given us, this better live up to expectation. Remember the hype over Sonic ’06, and then the disappointment of having time to cook an entire meal before the game finally loaded, and then managing to die coming off the course at an automated section and having to wait for it to load all over again? We simply can’t have a repeat of that, I think it would actually stop my heart from beating. I’ll admit now that the storyline does seem a little lacking, but I guess it’s really the only way SEGA could have combined the two Sonic forms. I just hope and pray that this doesn’t turn out to be a Fan Ploy.

    Nope, it IS REAL. If you check the interview with Iizuka, whenever it shows him talking, look to the LEFT, and you’ll see the 2 posing sonic’s that you saw on the leaked box-art. SEGA just needs to get the other zones onto the background, which they haven’t yet.

@sonictoast Look behind Iizuka when he’s being interviewed. There’s images of those two renders behind him, so they’re definitely not fake.

It also seems as how those Red Rings from Colors will be in this game as well. Which makes me wonder what unlockables will be? Maybe Super Sonic in levels again? Or, just something completely random, Shadow playable in modern style levels, and Tails or Knuckles in Classic style levels?

    Ive been wondering what the story mode will be like. I wonder if the chaos emeralds will be in the story too. because in colors, it took me FOREVER TO GET ALL THOSE RED RINGS……SUCH A PAIN!!! And I hope so too, SonicSilverSS, that maybe you’ll unlock characters as you collect more and more red rings. Cmon, it cant BE classic sonic, unless you go through some special stage, right?

      and dont forget the only thing i hate in sonic colors is no supersonic battle and the story mode was short. I hope the story mode is really long.

        Don’t worry, since both the classsic and modern have different stages, that means more levels. Let’s say sega said that generations will have 60 stages. That means classic sonic has 30, and so does modern sonic:) even if they are the same stages

      But then again, I dislike amy now, because of her VA….it sounds like a little tiny mouse. I would hate to see sonic date someone who talks like that. I liked the idea of Sonic and Amy being together, but, with her new VA, I just can’t imagine it. In Free Riders, she sounded so ugly….I just hope they fix her sound, or at least tweak it a bit. Because Sonic’s tone in free riders was stupid. “READY.. GOO!” He sounded like a gay guy. But in colors he was nice and calm, and sounded PERFECT. So who knows…they could very well change the tone for amy…which I really hope they do
