While most 3D Sonic shorts on YouTube are regularly terrible, MajorDump’s “Doomsday Zone” is the exception. It is an absolute masterpiece. Great models, smooth animation, appropriate camera operation and well-done sound design make this video a complete package. It could be a bit shorter, but that’s minor details that come after all of the great things I have to say for this short. Check it out for yourself!

Very impressive. Well, while I do agree it should be shortened, somehow, I feel shortening it would take away from the overall epicness of the guy’s work. However, I don’t think it should be two parts, but assuming he has a busy schedule and a lot of time being needed to work on something like this, it’s justifiable. Show ‘em what ‘ya got now, work on the rest later.

I haven’t even played the originals and this makes me feel nostalgic. I little iffy on his quills, but other than that…Wow. The ripple from the sonic boom, the explosions, the detail of the asteroids and emeralds…I mean, wow.

The details on all of this were great..but i felt if he had shortened the first part he could’ve completed the video..even so sharing with us is awesome…he should enter this in that competition..it’d definitely win something at least..

Oh hey, this Part 1 was pretty nice, but I do think this is just too long for even a Part 1. Depending on what the second part will be and how it goes, I dunno. I do think that even for the great effort it was put into this it did feel of slow pacing. I do enjoy how the models looked, but I wish he didn’t have to use the SSBB model. The choppiness around 6:28 should of been cleaned up too. The music could of been trimmed down or altered a little too, I do like how he tried matching the parts up, and that’s great and all, but even so, its what got boring to me to be quite honest. Sometimes the fluid animations from Sonic were a bit chopped up, but it’s nothing too noticeable. 3/5, I enjoyed watching it, but I can’t say its amazing.

and chronologically, what confused me about doomsday zone is that after you beat the blue flying machine, you won, yet there was one where you raced the red egg machine and won. which you defeated in the death egg zone and got back the master emerald, it confuses me
